See, the biggest issue with IFCA is receivables. Revenue figures look great.

But you need to be able to collect the monies from your customers.

Only then will Net Profit rise. Along with stock price.

I do hope they can collect...

The thing is, these stocks were doing well until April-May last year. Then the RM began to strengthen....

I do think everyone needs to attend courses on FA AND Technical Analysis. Both have value.

He does not cover "Take Profit", either. Just something to bear in mind.

Carl Ichan on selling Netflix... Carl Icahn Has No Regrets About Selling Netflix As It Jets To Record Highs

"That was a valuation [call]," Icahn said. "I'm not crying about it. I try to buy them cheap and sell them. I made all this money selling too early or too soon. You're never going to get the top. Once in a while you get the timing right, but that's like Vegas."

Selling Netflix was not, Icahn said, a reflection of his generally bearish view on the market at large, but a reflection of his philosophy to take a big gain rather than wait for the last dollar.

Why he does not advise on this matter is odd.

Additionally, it isn't prudent to buy nano-cap counters with next to no liquidity, like Fibon.
No large fund, like Public Mutual is going to buy to help you out. Even if the fund manager wanted to wager, the Trustee would prohibit it, as it would most likely go against mandate.

gohkimhock ... not sure what you're talking about. Many people have made a killing in Heng Yuan. You cannot sit there and say "stock operators" or "promoters".

Its only a mild correction. With a MCAP of ~RM 4 Billion, there are major funds buying in.

Of course HY isn't KC's type of company. But I'm sure Many, Many retailers have made money.

Bad example really.

I get what you're saying KC, but lets face it. Any stock needs both buyers and sellers.

You are using FA to justify your purchase, assuming other logical players (fund managers) are doing the same. Based on your analysis, which should "gel" with the analysts in CIMB, PB, etc. Therefore, in sharing your analysis, I'm sure you're also hoping that someone in EPF, KWSP or the banks "stumble" on the stocks, and buy.

Fundamentally, its all the same. Whether you decide to but based on FA or BS. Its on you, and you rely on other "big players" to assist you in making capital gains.

If you look at the chart of any "fundamentally sound" like Gtronic, or PBank and purchase the shares, well what exactly is wrong? You've both decided to purchase a good stock, observing the same thing, but coming at it from different angles.

Or you could just pick up a copy of Public Mutual Fund Reports and see where Public Bank fund managers are buying. I mean, who do you think is buying into those counters you've identified KC? Retailers?

Quality of packaging also dropped.

Folks switching to e-cigs and giving up smoking too.

Even if this AHM is a crony company about to be awarded a highly dubious government contract, this does not reflect well on K1 or its management.

It seems they are all out of ideas, after killing the goose - their mobile phone case business.

My opinion.

Thoughts?

Management doing their utmost to sabotage this company.

Making mentally retard business decisions. Like paying Acquisition Of 30% Equity Interest In AHM Consultancy & Security Services Sdn. Bhd. ("AHM") For Cash Consideration Of RM8.7 Million.
-Basically valuing the company @ RM 29mil !!!

The Net Profit for AHM is ONLY - 0.5 mil for FY15 !

So how is AHM going to fulfil the "profit guarantee" of RM14 mil over 2 years?

Bear in mind K1 is an electronics manufacturer. What is it doing buying a minority, non-controlling stake in security business?

Is deal trying to mask what is really a bribe or something else?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Enterprise value (EV) of ~RM43mil, for a company that is able to generate ~RM15mil net profit annually is pretty good.

The way I see it, slow and steady wins the race.

Some things to think about:

1) Strengthening RM, have a net positive impact on earnings.

2) Increase in interest rates throughout 2018, also positive on earnings (~RM99mil in bank).

3) The economy is doing well, and its an election year. There will be more cash to spend.

4) May decide to pay >1sen divvy...

5) No negative quarter in the last 10 years.

Good question. Surely can wallop for less in the open market? But maybe if one buys 49,409,500 shares on open market, the price will rise sharply...

Currently the unnamed party paid RM6,917,330 for that block of shares. I'm guessing they anticipate at least 100% ROI within 3 years.
