I don't get it... with EPS of >80, PE of <7, dividends of 20sen/year, PETRONM beats many other stocks hands down. Why is it still downtrending? Declining oil prices? Foreign funds disposing? Sharks pressing the prices low?

Those who bought at higher prices will be cursing, but those who missed the boat might consider entering now, especially for its higher than FD dividend yield. A monopoly casino like GENM will only generate more profit year after year.

Last time I came here, it was RM0.25. It can be inferred that the downtrend wont reverse until and unless this QR shows a profit, albeit a tiny one

RM7.17 has strong support today. Pchem may continue rising until ex-date. What a bargain for those wanting to buy at a cheap compared to few months ago!

Big thanks to 3iii for educating forumers. Many newbies make the mistake of speculating, or 'main hentam' when they should have done their homework first.

For those who are lazy, here is the TLDR version:

Insas may not be a great company with good growth in earnings.

However, the asset value of the company has been increasing rapidly over the years as shown in Figure 3 below and it is way undervalued.

The assets are mostly marked-to-market in cash and investments. There also has not been cash burn in any of their business segment, etc.

Dividends frm Padini are nothing to shout about. But consistency beats intensity. Consistent history of dividend payment beats companies that pays huge sums in certain years.

Padini is still recovering from its drastic RM5 drop. I believe its fundamentals are intact and Msians still value Padini clothes or Brands Outlets stores highly. Padini's earnings are fairly predictable, not susceptible to volatility, unlike O&G stocks or Plantation stocks.

I still have doubts. I expect it to drop back to RM8.20 level soon. SAM has always been like this. I would only start believing when it breaches RM9 mark.

In my 5sen opinion, PETRONM is simple. Buy when double-bottom occurs, when price touches RM6.01. Things can only get better after a lackluster year.

@HoldingKing, I don't think SAM will rise so quickly as shown previously in '16, '17 and '18. SAM usually rises at end July or after the Aug QR, provided that QR is better than the past years. I do hope SAM will break RM9.00 this time though.
