I am curious on the stagnant production growth for the past few years.

The management has said that acquisition of poultry farms from Farm's Best will give increase 30% production for CAB, it is very interesting.

Assets & loans increased but ROE improved, I agreed to statement by WealthWizard:

"every ringgit reinvested brought greater return over time"

ROE is also improving & the latest 4Q was about 15%

Debts collection is also very good, it's only about 1.3 months period, it means the company has done very well in credit control.

The stock to sales ratio is just unbelivably low, it means the operations are running very efficient & effective.

In the article & on No.5. CAB & other competitors, CAB has outpaced others in terms of revenue & improvement in profit margin

Due to my personal preferences, I don't like to use discounted cashflow due to the variable factors used in the formula are very subjective, but I respect anyone that using it. It is still very useful & powerful.

I will rather put into a simple way of calculation when come to assets acquisition:

revenue
profit
cost of finance (& investment)

If the profit can cover the cost of finance & give good return of more than 10% on investment, it will be good deal.

Ricky, these are not easy because we are outsiders & we do not have the details. Just like Ekovest selling Kesturi, no one know the details until they announced. Meanwhile, we can only guess.

Today CAB strategy is to grow, thus their decision is to take over Farm Best and move into Indo. Thus our role as investors is to ask "Given these strategies, how much would they need to put into the business (capex), how much cash flow, and when will they be generated?" Discounting those 3-5 years cash flow back to present gives you a valuation. I will be BS-ing you if this is easy to do, it's not. But 3 simple things, how much they going to put in, how much will they take out, and when.

There are many methods of valuing a company, some prefer discounted cash flow, some like PE, some use sum-of-part, blah blah...

For service industry like audit/secretary/tax, yearly revenue of a firm will be used as important reference.

Ultimately, the deal can only be struck if both parties reach a point where one is willing to pay & the other is willing to accept.

Go ask around in real world, especially ask those have been in business & successful for years, When come to business decision, will they solely or purely rely on accounting reports? They will tell you they will only see how much they have in their bank statement & will decide from rhwre

You may not interested to hear what I said & I don't think you will accept the facts that sometimes you dig too deep & too details.

In my opinion, ratios & figures served for business decision, while business decision is to be made based on considerations of many factors, internally & externally.

Internal factors include financial planning, positions & abilities, human resources, management skills, know-how & big ambition management team.

In CAB case, External factors include government policies, competitors, technology, human habits, flu, virus, etc....
