Double bond and triple bond are called unsaturated and hence it is in unstable state and thus seek to combine with anything on sight to because stable.

So please live your life in stable state and not in unstable state where you blow your top easily.

Killers to human biological processes especially reproductive and causes cancer are those polycyclic aromatics that comprises diesel with double C=C bonds and triple CC bonds.

refineries crack those double C=C bonds and triple CC bonds into single C-C bonds with platimum catalysts producing products that are still toxic but less so.
the process of cracking produces 6% expansion by volume becoz single C-C bond lengths are longer.

Normal fractionation just minimally breaks CC double and triple bonds, only platinum catalysts does this job better.

all modern cars with computerized EMS will auto adjust by itself. The OBD will show that the process just takes less that a second.
