After the debts have been cleared, tier two tariff will kick in, which is much lower than tier one as it is purely to cater for shareholders return)

Anyway I never bother to go into details because based on my experience, IPP is usually very lucrative, especially in a country facing severed shortage like Vietnam

In other words, I am very comfortable with the economics of the project and is confident that jaks current market cap is not reflective of the full potential of the IPP

My criticism is directed towards people like ValueLurker who based on 12% IRR, can straight away say "return per annum is circa USD20 to 25 mil"

We are questioning those people who single handedly based on IRR 12% to derive earning, cash flow, dividend etc

In my opinion , it is impossible to do so with decent accuracy without knowing further details as mentioned above (capex, repayment, tax, etc)

Jon Choivo simply slaps a 7.5% interest rate on the borrowing

ask him his estimate is based on what assumptions ? what credit rating ? what tenure ?

and on what basis does he believe that the loans deserve such credit rating ?

that is why when people asks me about IRR, cash flow etc, I tell them don't bother to guess, if the details are not available

I know what I am talking about because I spent a lot of my time working on power projects during my previous job

IRR is derived by solving the DCF equation such that it equals zero

it involves a lot a lot of information

I don't understand how people can claim that they know the economics of the project without knowing details of the Capex pattern during construction period, and the subsequent 25 years' capacity payment, operating expenses, tax expenses, maintenance capex (if any), interest rate, loan repayment structure (tranches, tenure, etc)

for me, I would rather tell myself that I don't know, instead of simply jumping into conclusion
