What kok you talking ? The entire World imposed tariff on china or only US imposed tariff on china ?

-----

Jon Choivo China total trade worldwide is USD3.9 trillion. Or about 30% of GDP. 30% not so much also hor ;). US is easily 14% of that.

Post completion, we can expect the power plant to regularly distribute dividend to Jaks and China partner. Because it is suicidal to keep the cash in the power company especially when China and Vietnam have a rocky relationship and fought war before.

Not really, if they don't produce good operating profit , this stock will retrace back to 90 Sen when next quarter result comes out

On the other hand, if it produces two to three consecutive quarters of good operating profit, it can easily touch RM2

If you don't believe me, you just wait and see what happens if they still can't perform well operationally next quarter

BREXIT BREAKTHROUGH: Brexit deal '90 percent' done says Irish leader in HUGE boost to May

A BREXIT deal is “90 percent” completed “in terms of text” and should be finalised in the next few weeks, according to Ireland’s deputy prime minister.

Simon Coveney said the chances of agreeing to a withdrawal treaty between Britain and the European Union were good.

He told Sky News: “I think the chances are good, because I think the consequences of not getting a withdrawal treaty agreed are very very negative indeed for the UK, also for Ireland and indeed for many countries in the EU.”

Mr Coveney added that talks are now entering an intensive phase.

Self handicapping happens when people insist that only certain methods work

There are many ways to skin the cat. Warren Buffett or other gurus are not the only way

Their investing principles should be used as guidance, not rules that must be blindly followed. This is especially true for developing economies like Malaysia that very few companies have moat

don't over react , stamp duty surcharge of 1% to 3% only

========================

'Let's fix the housing market' May pledges to charge foreign companies more stamp duty

By ALISON LITTLE
PUBLISHED: 15:50, Sun, Sep 30, 2018 | UPDATED: 16:01, Sun, Sep 30, 2018

Earlier, Mrs May stressed: "Britain will always be open to people who want to live, work and build a life here.

"However it cannot be right that it is as easy for individuals who don't live in the UK, as well as foreign-based companies, to buy homes as hard working British residents."

The Government will consult on the merits of a stamp duty surcharge of between 1 and 3 per cent, expected to raise between £40million and £120million a year.

My real life porotflio shrank 20% in 2018. That put me number 41th on the list. Still lousy

But 2015 to 2017 was good. As matter of fact, super good

I think overall strategy is still valid. I am sticking to my existing method of buying stocks that next year earning expected to be higher than this year (uncle Koon formula)

my portfolio seriously affected by BN losses

gadang, ekovest affected by construction industry collapse (gadang is supposed to secure more MRT contracts, ekovest is supposed to finalise the RM6 bil additional DUKE)

WCE price not adjusted for right issue. It is also affected by toll sentiment change following PH government change

priceworth affected by the change in Chief Minister in Sabah (which was previously BN). The new CM tried to mess around with concessions (so that he can re award them). And also priceworth did not adjust for rights issue

as for masteel, it is a lousy pick. In addition, it also has not reflected bonus issue

2018 is a lousy year for me. But that is life, you have ups and downs

cheers

buying now is equivalent to buying at 230 as the company is likely to distribute 75 sen dividend (minimum)

so the question you need to ask is "is AA expensive at 230 ?"

I think not very expensive lah, so I make a bet

but all these should be a thing of the past already. With the US trade war cutting off closed to USD20 bil furniture export from China, Vitetnam based manufacturers (be it China or Malaysian owned) now have more orders than they can digest. The depressed pricing should be gone already

yes, correct. According to Latitude boss, China manufacturers flooded the Vietnamese market (competing for export clients) and drove down price in past quarter. Apparently pohuat suffered also

China has a lot of furniture factories in Vietnam till Poh Huat and Latitude Tree can't compete with them. You can read their QRs (Malaysian factories) mentioning that stiff competition with China factories.

Their billings now mostly based on civil and structural. But very soon the mechanical and electrical components (boilers, transformer etc) will start billing as well. As we move closer and closer to 2019, earnings from Vietnam will get stronger and stronger.

In other words, at current phase, Jaks is a growth stock. If you don't buy now when are you going to buy ?
