PETALING JAYA: The mushrooming data centres(DC) in Malaysia will be the main driver for electricity demand growth, benefiting the country’s sole electricity provider, Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB).

In fact, TNB’s electricity sales already hit a record in the first quarter of 2024 at 31,899 gigawatt hours, driven by two new data centres that have a combined installed capacity of about 600 megawatts (MW).

With DC boom, i noticed a few of this HDD n SDD related stocks hv reverted back to their previous high price.

SNS Network aims to tap country’s Data Centre boom through new venture. Having identified artificial intelligence (AI) opportunities in Malaysia, SNS Network Technology Bhd now expects a meaningful contribution from its newly ventured Data Centre fit-out business segment. Besides selling AI super servers, the ICT system and solutions provider is also involved in testing n commissioning as well as operation and management within the premises of Data Centers. In short, SNS fills the gap between server manufacturers and server buyers.

The ESOS at lower price never bothers me considering d current upbeat on booming Data Center n d high demand for HDD n SSD. It's a good buy at current price.

SCGBHD earnings is rather consistent n never disappoints me. Revenue n profit increases every quarter to quarter. It's indeed a good fundamental stock n deserved a higher price rating.

Apart from the undergoing high capex multi billions DC construction projects in Malaysians' companies, the DC fit-out business segment is another area of interest.
SNS recently ventured into this segment by selling AI super servers, as well as providing testing, commissioning and operation and management on the premises of DCs. The ICT systems and solutions provider told The Edge in a recent interview that it expected meaningful contribution from this foray. A unit of its AI super server is sold at RM1.5 million, with an estimated gross profit margin of 15%, well above the 5% from its existing core business.

Theta Edge said it has teamed up with India-based power transmission giant KEC International Ltd to bid for Tenaga Nasional Bhd’s (TNB) future grid projects.

Making further inroad into overseas market. SCGBHD will focus on growing its export sales by tapping into oversea markets such as Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam and US. In particular, the Myanmar market is set to grow over the next 10 years, supported by the Myanmar National Electrification Project. Separately, SCGBHD is in the midst of penetrating US market via its in-house developed XHHW-2 industrial cables, which command a better margin. We gather that SCGBHD will deliver the trial orders to US-based customer in the coming months and is optimistic to secure the distributorship agreement afterward.
