Maybe I did not make myself clear in my posting. Citing PMcorp is just to show the difference between investing and speculation.If you buy and hold PMcorp for investment, maybe it will hit RM 1 one day. But buying PMcorp for speculation, you have bear the loss if you enter at the wrong time.

What the writer said is very true, unless you have more than 1 house to rent or sell for investment, high and escalating house price is not doing you any good. It is actually robing you your purchasing power as inflation increases the costs of living.

In general, a high property price market only benefits a small group of people, i.e., developer, speculator and wealthy people. To the ordinary folk, a high property price erodes the purchasing power by reducing the disposable income, rendering a lower economic activities in other sectors. A high property price brings more harm than good.
