The South Africa trial results are “most sobering,” said Eric Topol, director of the Scripps Research Translational Institute in San Diego. “We see an unequivocal drop-off in efficacy.”

That means the world must now divert attention to work on a new, adjusted vaccine or booster shot that works better on the South Africa strain, while it is still ramping up injections of the first shots, according to Topol.

“We are having enough struggle getting the first round of vaccines in,” he said.

Novavax’s shot, 89% effective in the U.K., was only 49% effective in South Africa.

EPF has gotten back the shares it lend out.
But where these shorties got their shares? Borrowed from somewhere else and returned to EPF?

Or, bought from market? If bought from market (21/1 19mil <out of total volume of 29mil shares transacted> & 22/1 - 36mil (out of 47.7mil shares transacted>)), then it is worrying! Was there such volume on 21st & 22nd? With 55mils shares bought, share price only temporarily up. This will be bad news?

But total net short selling position up to end 27Jan still show 2.92% ( increase from 232.4mil to 239.5mil shares) has been shorted.!!

The fact of the matter is, most western countries have totally lost control on the pandemics, and hence pin all their hope on vaccine!!

This is pandemics that requires multiple approaches to bring it under control. Vaccine alone isnt the solution, at best just one of the solutions.

Even with vaccinated, face mask n physical distant still have to be observe, as none of the vaccine producers proclaimed vaccinated adult wont transmit covid-19
