Logically, major shareholders of a listed company should revalue company assets first before they decide to take the company private. Sadly this is always not done.

When the first MCO was imposed on 18 March 2020, MRCB's share price crashed to 30 sen a share but its recovery was fast. It rebounded to over 55 sen in about 10 weeks. Its latest bull run started at around end June and after almost 8 weeks, it is still struggling at 42 sen. There are more reasons for MRCB to go up this time.

From a low of RM4.80 in early June to RM5.72 now for a gain of 92 sen or 19%, this is really impressive. CIMB is undoubtedly the best performing bank stock during this period. Those who had the foresight and picked up a couple of thousand shares then are now laughing to the banks.

During a bull market, every damn counter would move up, including loss making counters. Lower liners would go up much more proportionately. L&G has been profitable all along and should go up to where it was years ago.

I only have investments in RHB Bank and Maybank, the two bank counters with the highest dividend yields among bank stocks.

It was trading at below 10 sen several months ago, the lowest in more than 10 years. Still a long way from its rights issue subscription price 6 to 8 years ago. Many investors are still suffering from huge losses.

If results end in 3-3 and PH+BN retain 2/3 majority in NS, Sel and PP, then market would react positively.

CIMB's dividend yield is around 5%, RHB is over 7%. If you are investing for dividend, then you should buy RHB Bank.

CIMB Bank's share price looks set to catch up with or even surpass RHB Bank's share price. At one stage several months ago, RHB Bank was 50 sen higher. While CIMB has staged a strong recovery from its recent lows by shooting up over 80 sen, RHB Bank has only gone up by less than 40 sen.

Market is probably expecting a PH+BN win in the state elections.

PNB and EPF do not need to pump up RHB Bank and Maybank. They would spike by themselves should PH+BN still win more than 2/3 majority in the three states that were under PH control prior to the dissolution of the state assemblies.
