Keck Seng's net cash today exceeds RM1 billion. Just allocate 10% of this amount to buy listed shares that pay good dividends like Maybank. I believe it has held PPB Group and Chin Teck shares for over 30 years. Time to switch to counters which pay better dividends.

Last year's dividend payout rate was 84.3%. If Maybank earns 75 sen a share this year and maintains its pay out rate, then dividend this year should be around 62 sen a share. Let's hope it can materialise.

There are 4 companies listed on NYSE that have a market capitalization exceeding $1 trillion each. Ringgit is dropping against the US$ almost everyday.

Earnings of most plantation companies in the first quarter have plunged by over 60%. Earnings of CannonTan's favorite plantation company TSH Resources have dropped by 70%. So the much talked about special dividend from TSH this year is just a pipe dream. Earnings of his next favorite plantation stock Boustead Plantation have dropped by over 95%. Just like Maybank, I believe RHB Bank's first quarter earnings should also improve over its October to December quarter.
