I had bought several thousand Tenaga shares at an average price of about RM9.80 over the past 6 months. I am confident of a return of not less than 15%, including dividends by the end of next year.

High chance to go up to RM8.60 by end of the year. While CIMB has gone up by more than 70% from its lows, Maybank has only gone up by 15%.

Hope year end window dressing will push Tenaga to RM10.

Several million shares changed hands at RM 9.51. This has to be the work of institutions.

@thirai thiraviam - tenaga made big money in 2014, 15 and 16 but paid around 40 sen dividends, only 50% of what it paid for financial year ending 31/12/2020. It made 48.68 sen a share for financial year ending 31/12/2017 but was trading at above RM15 in March 2018. In early 2020 before the pandemic, it was trading at above RM11, Maybank was trading at around RM 8.70 and CIMB at around RM5. No reason for it to stay at this level except for the fact that EPF is dumping.

Remember to sell all your Top Glove shares if they ever move up to RM3 again.
2021-12-17 11:27 | Report Abuse
Judging from the number of comments posted on this forum each day, I think more small investors prefer to invest in glove stocks ( n lose money) rather than invest in rock solid stocks like Tenaga, Maybank and RHB.

I hope it can drop to below RM7.90 again because I intend to buy a couple of thousand shares but I doubt it would.

Tenaga's share price touched RM9 a few days ago, the lowest in over 8 years if dividends are excluded. It is now poised for a sharp rebound.

Wow! Already over 100 comments! I believe a lot of small investors have investments in Top Glove. I wonder how many have made money in this counter.

I will borrow some scripts to sell at RM4.

Those who had sold Top Glove when it when limit up recently and have still not bought back the shares are having a good laugh.

It should be above RM9.50 next week due to year end window dressing. We haven't got any for a long time.

No limit down today as predicted by a "tycoon" yesterday. hahahahaha.

Looks like the worst of Tenaga is over and is en route to recovery.
2021-12-09 10:59 | Report Abuse
Assuming Tenaga pays another 38 sen (instead of 58 sen) dividend for its financial year ending 31/12/2021, its dividend yield for the year still works out to a creditable 6.6%, several times higher than banks' 1 year fixed deposit rates. I doubt the EPF could beat this.

Just keep Maybank shares and wait for year end window dressing. We haven't got year end window dressing for a long time.
2021-12-07 17:13 | Report Abuse
Tenaga's NTA is over RM9.60 a share. Hopefully RM9 is a strong support level and EPF won't be silly enough to sell Tenaga at below RM9 a share.

Just ignore this little pesky fellow called Calvin. He is only a charlatan.

Think of the days when Tenaga was trading at over RM14 a share and its earnings per share exceeded RM1. The good old days will return one day. Think positive!

Whatever negative comments about Maybank, I just don't care and buy whenever the price is right.

Quickly grab Maybank at RM7.91 while there are still sellers. Maybank's average dividend over the past 12/13 years is about 55 sen a share. This works out to a dividend yield of almost 7%.

Lowest in 8 years but still no sign of bottoming out. When people are fearful, we should be greedy.

Lads, the effect of cukai makmur on Maybank's net profit and hence its dividend payout is very minimal. Furthermore, it is only a one off. Continue to invest in Maybank without any hesitation.

Maybank has only risen by 15% from its lowest level recorded over the past one year, CIMB and Genting have gone up by 70%. Even Ambank which has been fined RM2.83 billion has gone up more.

With the new tax rate for earnings exceeding RM100 million, Maybank may end up having to pay an additional RM1 billion tax this financial year. Its final dividend for the financial year ending 31-12-2021 is unlikely to be maintained at 38.5sen again.

Maybank's interim dividend this year at 28sen a share is already the highest in more than 10 years. I expect the final dividend to be announced after the release of its 4th quarter results to be at least equal to or more than 38.5sen a share, translating into a dividend yield of over 8%, much more than the EPF is able to pay and several times more than one year fixed deposit rates. Maybank shouldn't be trading at RM8 a share.

I am a small investor and hold only 6,000 CIMB shares. How many DRS shares can I get? Certainly less than 100. I can probably make RM 50 from this exercise but have to pay RM 10 stamp fees n another RM 10 for courier service, what about parking and fuel...Many small investors like me would not want to go through such hassle and don't bother to apply. To retain capital, the most impartial way is to issue bonus shares. In this way, all investors, big and small would benefit equally.

EPF has to keep RHB's share price depressed so that it can get its drp shares at a lower price, this means more RHB shares. Same thing for Maybank.

Naysayer/snake oil sellertan, the institutions that you mentioned had been allotted over 100 million Maybank shares during a recent drs exercise at RM7.78 a share. It is only logical that they sell some of their allotted shares to pay their unit holders/members.
