Keck Seng has around 4.8 million PPB group shares. I wonder if the directors are smart enough to dispose of some PPB group shares today.

Maybank isn't ready to go up yet. Just be a bit more patient. EPF is a substantial shareholder in many listed GLCs and it has to do some window dressing at the year end to make its bottom line look good.

If the directors are proactive enough, they should make use of Keck Seng's huge cash reserves to buy some bank shares now, like Maybank, CIMB, RHB and Public Bank. Just a quarter of its cash reserves will do.

For those who are already retired, it is safe to withdraw a portion of their EPF fund, say around 10% to invest in Maybank shares. Maybank has dropped to attractive levels.

Maybank is likely the company with the highest dividend yield listed on Bursa Malaysia, more than double the 12 month fixed deposit rate most banks are paying.

Maybank paid a total dividend of 55 sen per share this year. At RM 8.50 a share, this works out to a dividend yield of 6.47 which is more than double the current 1 year fixed deposit rate. Don't miss the opportunity to accumulate Maybank shares.

Losing money every quarter and every year as usual. While the company is losing money, I bet the directors are getting paid well.

Another set of excellent results. The interim dividend to be declared later is also 66% higher than the interim dividend declared a year ago. This year's total dividend should be at least 30 sen a share if profit is maintained.

Why did you regurgitate stale news? RHB still makes good money and pays reasonably good dividend. Aabar sold its RHB shares but other institutions picked them up. They can't be stupid. EPF still holds over 40% of RHB shares. Those who had bought CIMB or Maybank shares just before GE last year have now lost a lot of money but investors of RHB are still able to make some money.

Other institutional investors are buying. Otherwise CIMB shares would drop to the bottom of the sea.

Aabar Investments still holds around 170 million RHB Bank shares which it is not allowed to sell within the next 60 days. This could be a drag on the performance of RHB. Great opportunity to buy RHB shares at such a low level. After the divestment by Aabar of all of its RHB shares, we may not have this opportunity again.

After buying Keck Seng shares at 75% discount to its NTA, the directors are laughing all the way to the bank. That's how poor people make rich people even richer.

Keck Seng is a grossly undervalued counter, so when Keck Seng buys its own shares, every shareholder, including the directors benefits. When the Directors are buying, it only benefits them, not the small shareholders like us. What is the point of seeking shareholders' mandate for share buy-back every year if the company fails to buy back its own shares?

@SUPERDADDY, it is OK to accept a discount of 30% to Keck Seng's NTA of over RM 20 a share but if the directors only offer RM 7 per share, I doubt there would be any takers. If they are the vendors instead, I am sure they would demand a premium of 30%. Assuming Malaysians hold 110 million Keck Seng shares (30% of its paid up capital), this would result in a loss of over RM 1.4 billion to the country if we were to let go KS shares at RM 7 a share.

fourM, Keck Seng's 3305 hectares of oil palm estates are worth at least RM 3 billion, assuming RM 400,000 per acre. It also has hotels in Hawaii, New York and Toronto, 8,000 ft2 of office space in Singapore and other minor properties.
