2015-02-27 13:32 | Report Abuse
anything below RM1 also is a steal. look at the latest qtr earnings. its still solid. tenderbooks enough to last them 2 years. lets hope they manage the projects well and get a good margin out of it
2015-02-27 11:30 | Report Abuse
maybe they are "instructed" to do so. Analyst wor.... "human also them, ghost also them" (cantonese phrase)
2015-02-27 09:25 | Report Abuse
very ethical indeed Kenanga. asking ppl to buy high and sell low in a span of 1 month. bravo!
2015-02-27 08:35 | Report Abuse

rMoi, once bitten twice shy. u knw wat type of ppl he is, then do the opposite. treat his BUY calls as SELL calls instead

OTB, I somehow agree with you partially. those ppl who did not do their homework really need to pay for their consequences. after all, the writers of the articles here did not hold a gun and force you to buy. but personally I feel very sick of certain ppl's "noble intention" to share "news" with you in order for you to prosper. lets not get me starting with names, its very obvious who am I referring to if I and commenting on this thread.
2015-02-24 08:13 | Report Abuse
too bad still many still fall prey to his so called "noble intentions". another cunning person worth watching is bonez. once they have accumulated enough silently or secured their positions, they will come up with some "positive insights" of tat counter to induce buying. and while some of us are happily chasing, there they are unloading quietly too. and after awhile when they hype is gone, they will give some excuse to migrate to another counter. they will be one step faster than us, no point chasing after "news" and "rumours". just think twice or thrice on everything you read here (my opinions included)
2015-02-23 16:28 | Report Abuse
Another JTiasa case. Go la and chase after Latitud and VS and continue believing somebody's "noble intentions"
2015-02-23 14:53 | Report Abuse
R Moi, u think he will answer u meh? pack bags and lari liao. same case happened in JayaTiasa last time. There is no such thing as "noble intentions" to help other small traders. remember its a dog eat dog world outside

cipapo, pls tell me which sector not affected by GST? unless you sew your clothes la!

so its faster than I thought, big players decided to make their move. Pls continue this momentum :)

I'm still a bit pessimistic on Pads, not on its revenue growth but more concerned on its reducing profit margin. Well, to be fair I guess they are not the only one getting affected, competition is tough across consumer/retail segment. as long as management can look into cost reduction strategies to maintain or improve its earnings margin, it should be a solid company to hold on too.
2015-02-10 08:20 | Report Abuse
no idea, probably just universal principle of buy low sell high. Since they have so many bullets, the share price is much affected by their activities, i still remember previously the price was dropping like diarrhea bcoz Franklin is the one cashing out and many traders like us also follow suit. its just a matter of time when the big traders have accumulate enough and decided to "move" the price up. hopefully coming qtr results will be the catalyst

saufi, pergi main jauh sikit kalau nak boikot, jangan ganggu kami cari duit. Franklin latest stand is at near 10% acquisition liao. hopefully all the way till RM2 by the time quarter results is out! Huatttt!

thanks KC! loved your impartial comments! (unlike some other "famous" blogger started with the word "B" who gave the BUY call and many followed and get trapped) keep it up!

amstrongkl, ur comment shows how shallow minded you are. both are in total different categories. taste and quality also depend on individual preference, i wouldn't say which is better here but Starbucks is PERCEIVED to be of higher quality because of the branding and luxurious environment/ambiance. furthermore, this in an investment forum, not food blog. go ahead an buy BJFood at all means.

hey, i also made the "same mistake" as you! same entree point as well. I'm hoping for it to recover though. at the moment, just treat it as an FD :)

agree with Calvintaneng. you can just browse those company announcements. transaction of substantial shareholders will be disclosed. i am following 4) OTB regularly
2015-01-22 08:20 | Report Abuse
bsnpg, yes, i would bet along with you, upsize tat cup of Starbucks! RAwwrRRs! Q1 2015 sales should be good due to CNY and the last min shopping before GST kicks in. It's now up to the management hands to think of ways to maintain its profit margin and we shall see how it improves fundamentally

agreed that most analyst have hidden agenda. banks too have mutual funds. probably working hand in hand. negative sentiments stirred to invoke fear so that fund managers can grab at lowest while spinning positive news or buy calls so that fund managers can unload and take profit. unethical i agree!
2015-01-15 08:27 | Report Abuse
big players trying to shake us off small ikan bilis but we shall ride against the tide when everyone else is panic selling. once big fishes accumulated enough, they will reverse the tide. certain counter movement is orchestrated, if not how 'syndicates' and funds make money? well, big players also hire spinners to create "fear" or even "false hopes" in forums. don't trust everything you read here, even analyst reports... and even what I say. Just do your homework and observe the world for yourself :)

i think big players are accumulating enough, its time to start engine and buy their way up. anyway, too early for guesses, wait till T+3 tmrw and see how many are contras. once cleared contra players, then oni the climb can take it to the next level. hope this momentum can sustain.

finally! another 10 cents surge north! hopefully maintain momentum and challenge the next immediate resistance level of 1.80+

i used to "trust" these analyst report during my initial trading days. but for now, i still read them but mostly feel amused by their writings. we must be aware these IBs also have their own mutual funds. we do not deny the possibility that these "analyst" have been in partnership with fund managers to create fear for funds to lock in a bargain position and like kimchi said, later on will paint a positive picture for fund managers to unload their position.
2015-01-14 11:19 | Report Abuse
but can't deny the fact tat once NEGATIVE reviews from these "analyst" of IBs are released, the trading psychology will be affected. chinese phrase: "humans also them, ghost also them".

From consumers point of view, before GST kicks in, will you do a final shopping spree and stock up on non perishable goods like furniture, electrical appliances and clothes? There could be a situation whereby Q1 FY2015 will see a surge in sales revenue (no guarantee for profit margins) before the buying tone down post Apr15. Anyway, lifestyle is very hard to change, you may control your spending post Apr, but how long can you contain yourself? the word CONSUMER comes from the word CONSUME. period. just my 2cents. chillax!
2015-01-14 11:00 | Report Abuse
Analyst, as always so fast change their tone. not even 1 month and there us such big different in their TPs. Scaring the broad daylight out of investors here
2015-01-14 10:57 | Report Abuse
Analyst, as always, changing of tone so fast. Just few months ago their buy call was so strong... Anyway I feel that consumers might give a final shopping surge/stock up before GST kicks in, so Q1 2015 might be an extraordinary strong quarter for consumer/retail goods which has no expiry. But with Q1 FY15 only announced in May, despite the convincing sales revenue, traders might probably be demotivated by the negative sentiments from GST. Just my 2 cents. What do you think of the near future of consumer goods counters?

her hubby also not stupid ma, go and propose to restructure the budget, macamlah isteri tak cukup duit belanja for the remaining 11 months of 2015.
2015-01-14 08:42 | Report Abuse
From a consumer point of view, yes I will be cautious on my spending patterns prior to GST implementation but I believe many (me inclusive) will stock up non perishable goods or goods with long shelf life/without shelf life like electrical appliances, furniture, clothes and certain home equipments. even household items like detergent, shampoo, etc will be stocked up before 1 Apr. I forsee a huge surge in the 1Q of 2015 and the revenue for these consumers goods will be skyrocketing during this period. Just my 2 cents.

long way to go for it to recover back. lets see after 6pm got any share buy back announcements or not. huge volume transacted today, surely got big funds responsible for today's movement.

how do you account for the dips in almost all the other counters? Franklin Resources does not appear in all hundreds of small caps counters in the stock market okay. the drop is mainly due to the negative sentiment from falling crude oil prices and uncertainty in Malaysia's economy strength in the upcoming year.

yesterday's northward bound is most likely temporal. just to ease the bleeding, long time to heal the deeply cut wounds. ouch! TGIF! so where are the IB analysts? KLCI breaking 1900 by end of 2014 is it? MY FOOT! lol
2014-12-15 11:59 | Report Abuse
steve, wat you mean DJI didnt dropped. nobody is spared from the global crude oil price downtrend. the more your country is dependent on natural resources such as this, the more negative impact on your economy. to make things worse, crude palm stockpile has been at the peak, again another commodity price will drop. no need external parties attack bursa. Malaysia economy just self detonated

Steeve, I agree barakah performance is relatively better than most other O&G sector counters. but the problem is not the with the company, its with the overall O&G sector. Yaya one day will go up, bila?
