Calvin, you should open a bank in Iskandar and give out housing loans freely and have no fear because prices will always go up.

I think Calvin is now asset rich but he wants us to help him to change to cash rich. Exchange his high priced assets for our cash.

Calvin never tires of pumping up JB properties especially in Iskandar, inspite of their high valuation. Singaporeans and Malaysians are the most indebted in Asia. Can they still take in more debts? Is Calvin is infact in the process of dumping?

Lately, Calvin has been very active in i3. I wonder why. I can only see two plausable reasons. Either he forsees a sell-off in the not too distant future and want us to support the counters he's heavily invested in, or conversely, being a good soul, he doesn't want us to miss out from an anticipated bull run. Recently I was in Singapore and I told that in order to buy a new car, the buyer has to put 40% down! It goes to show that the government must be alarmed at the indebtedness of Singaporeans.

The more money you have the bigger the headache. If you perceive the share market to be in a prolonged downtrend, what strategies would take to protect your capital? Is any company safe? W. Buffett lately invested hugely in aircraft parts and oil refining manufacture. Would you do the same? Or would you rather concentrate on our exporting companies and gamble on the exchange rate.

Fortunately some talk sense here. It is our ego that compells us to make comments in i3. It is our ego that wants us to be remembered. It is our ego to want to share. It is our ego to want to look good condemning others.

I don't quite agree. A hedge fund, Long Term Capital Management, with two Noble Prize winners in their team lost 4.6 billion usd in 1998 in a matter of four months and had to be baled out with the help of the US Federal Reserve. Successful investment is in timing and if timed right, you win, irrespective of what you have between the ears.

Tecnic's last quoted price was 1.45. If we were to deduct the proposed cash refund of 0.49 sen and the vendor's offer price of 0.63 sen, to the existing shareholders, the premium is 0.33 sen. Is this too much to pay? It says a lot of the business acumen of the vendor, who at the time the company was taken private in 2006, the nta was 1.83, compared to the current 2.92 offer price. The direction where the share is heading will be depend on the three future quarterly results plus any positive news from the vendor, prior to the IPO. Let the market decide!

Very interesting times ahead. For the contrarians it may be a good time to collect? REI, the vendor, were doing very well when they decided to go private in 2007. The reason, they were not willing to dilute their share holdings in order to meet the minimum public spread of 25%. They bought the remaining shares (21%) that they did not own at RM1.80 per share. An analysis of their 2007 accounts, indicated high growth in both top line and bottom line, with historical p/e of 5.45 times and their forward p/e of 3.5 times, based on annualized earnings. In 2016, they have a change of heart. What do you think will happen in the coming months leading to the IPO?

The report is incomplete without the cost of the APD machine and other ancillary costs. Perhaps the writer conveniently left them out to make it more convincing. Don't forget the Lucenxia APD machine was in operation as far back as 2012 or even earlier. The company is trying hard to have the machines accepted by the Health Ministry, by holding a SERIES of clinical trials at a number of hospitals. Furthermore, home hemodialysis is also available as well. Which is safer and more cost effective? In this context, users of these machines can educate us on this matter.

It is only a matter of time when the HKD unpegs. The forex reserves of China and HK may be high, but they will quickly be depleted should there be a stampede to USD. Currently, China is experiencing such a situation, draining their forex reserves. In order to have more control over their monetary reserves they are going to introduce electronic currency asap. Before the window finally shuts for good, I'm sure that a lot of mainland Chinese would like to store their liquid assets outside the country and in which safer currency than in USD? For those who argue that the dollar is unsafe because of the $18 to $19 trillion debts that it carries. It is still small when compared to the world's total debts of over $200 trillion. Moreover, the USD is still recognised as the world's reserve currency and is still the safe haven in any monetary crisis.
