Citizens and residents of Malaysia, we must support them, but we also accept meritocracy. Regardless of race or region, we can guarantee a place in matriculation for them. Anwar said that although the decision recognises excellence regardless of race and background https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2024/07/01/meritocracy-in-matriculation-student-intake-says-anwar

Yes , finally what others has failed to do. UMNO that has been in power for more than 50 years , this was one of the saddest failure that has plagued our talents
Good and straight A students not getting what they deserved , they had to resort to sth less and aiming for less. I had seen it happen , so much potential wasted.
Despite all the controversies, PH has managed to set things right once again. They have set many things right , not PN who were busy siphoning and being corrupt in order to keep up with sheraton move.
Meritocracy is the way forward ! those that deserve the merits they earn ! Give them the chance and let them show us the future !

What meritocracy when matriculation programme was meant to be a backdoor to enter local university?

THE matriculation programme was meant to be a backdoor to help more Malay students get into university, said Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

“We decided to have matriculation because we found that Malays do not have a higher certificate and they could enter universities. So, we provided a backdoor for that.

“It was entirely meant to be a backdoor (entry) for Malays but now other people do much better but they cannot get into matriculation.

“It is simply because they did not do much better that we had to create matriculation for the Malays
