they will be deep deep inside plantations - will take days for them to come out anywhere (if they can even find their way out)

The Indian locals were once the majority workforce in these plantations. They were driven out by plantation owners due to race and religion and avoiding employment benefits such as EPF, SOCSO, increment, annual leave and health care. That is a fact.
