net profit increase from 1.5 million to 5million.3+ times improvement compared to previous qr. But actually the revenue only increased from 14 million to 15 million. Not really that good. So i think price may move upwards but wont be a lot.
1.operating expenses increased from 0.8 million to 2.44 million compared with past qr. (Not a good sign) 2.foreign exchange gain 4.75 million this qr (loss of 2,26 million previous qr) So if not fereign exchange gain, this qr is not really good.
sure drop la, this company business is selling prawns but nearly all of the profits came from foregn exchange gain. Try deduct foreign exchange gain of 4.75 millions from profit of 5.073 million , how much profit does this company actually earned from selling prawns.?
prawn for Chinese new year... prawn for chinese new year. now egg after this seafood.
selling prawn revenue 15 Million, Profit 3 Million. decent performance. profitable company among penny stock. graph in accumulation phase, break 0.235 are sign to go higher..
foreign exchange are Yuan against Ringgit cause MAG mostly sold their prawn to China. Yuan performance is higher so the foreign exchange gain will be higher next quarter. With covid under control in china, will Chinese new year celebration be better this year??
no matter about foreign exchange, No need high expectation for this 10 cent company, see my simple calculation, this company only need to just maintain 2 million each quater profit ( estimated Q4 2020 can hit 2 mil profit ) = so 8 mil / year ( for 2020 Q1 till Q4 ). If 8 mil nett profit per year will make it EPS above RM1.00 per share.shares total 680 mil, How much share price will be if EPS RM1.00. ?? 50 cents ?? or ??
Agricultural sector will have a huge potential in near future. In malaysia agricultural are not fully appriciate due to abundance of agricultural product and food available in our country while in lot of other country there is food crisis, so agriculture and food are at premium. Beside Malaysia too fully focus on technology with a lot of investment announcement on technology affecting investor sentiment. When our normal life recover, food industry will recover. When tourism recover, food industry will flourish . MAG revenue and profit will equally grow.
Plus with cash of 100 million while their debt only 50 million mean MAG has ability to expand their business. One that being considered are packed-cooked food, which already a growing trend pre pandemic and the trend will rapidly accelerate post pandemic.
Anyway for short term prospect just consider near this chinese new year and korean new year as potential demand for MAG prawn. ( Due to MAG main export for their product are korea and china)
BENGALURU (Dec 21): Thailand's stocks and baht led losses in Asian emerging markets on Monday after coronavirus curbs in a key export hub near Bangkok were extended following a record number of cases in the country, reviving fears of an economic slowdown.
A seafood industry centre that is home to thousands of migrant workers, Samut Sakhon will stay locked down until Jan. 3 after an outbreak at a shrimp market over the weekend, leading Thailand to report more than 500 cases of coronavirus.
Thai equities slid 3.7% and the baht fell almost 1% due to the economy's heavy dependence on trade and tourism, and both were headed for their worst sessions in many months.
"The selloff is because of the news of the lockdown in the province near Bangkok," said Peerapan Suwannarat, senior market and economic research specialist at Kasikornbank.
Phillip Securities analysts in a note to clients said the lockdown could take a toll on Samut Sakorn's processed seafood, cold storage, packaging and fishing industries, major sources of revenue for the region, and dampen confidence of both local and foreign investors.
KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 21): While Malaysia is on the path towards economic recovery, containing the Covid-19 pandemic and protecting the most vulnerable must remain the country’s topmost priorities over the near term.
Shakira Teh was commenting on the recently released report, World Bank Malaysia Economic Monitor: Sowing the Seeds, which highlighted that containing the pandemic is vital to ensure a safe resumption of economic activity and to prevent a more protracted downturn.
According to the report, this would include targeted mobility restrictions in high-risk areas, large-scale testing and contact tracing to limit the spread of the virus, on top of additional funding allocations in the healthcare sector to meet the increased needs of domestic health and emergency services and to facilitate the timely and equitable distribution of Covid-19 vaccines when they become available.
The report is focused on the agriculture segment’s potential in lifting Malaysia economic status.
“Specifically, agrofood is a timely topic, given that in the beginning of the pandemic when the movement control order was in place, there were a lot of concern about food security.
“Secondly, the data shows that most of the B40 (bottom 40%) income group are involved in the agriculture sector, therefore addressing challenges and improving this sector will have a positive spillover effect on Malaysia as a whole,” she added.
It can go higher.. The chairman has acquired from open market since Feb until Sept 2020 at 0.240 - 0.275. I think at least should wait whether can breach first resistance at 0.235.
1. MAG involve in prawn/shrimp which is Agrofood. Food can be a defensive stock during economic downturn as everybody need food. While during recovery, food industry will recover faster. If Tourism recover, food industry will flourish. If there is inflation the first thing to monitor is food price rise.
Beside due to : a. Distruption from MCO around the world that stop shrimp breeding cycles. b. Covid 19 outbreak at seafood market, Thailand. c. Issue with container to export shrimp especially from india (world top shrimp producer) Will create higher demand with lower supply for shrimp especially during this festival season in china and korea.
2. Already registering 2 profit quarter. MAG already plan to set up processing plan to increase profit margin. They even consider to invest in packed cooked food which is good with the current trend.
3. From the annual report the chairman already make a statement if the company start generating profit, the company will start paying dividen. As the price of the stock can be undervalue if compare to NTA 0.75 or MAG PAT. So MAG can be value stock, growth stock and even dividend stock.
"The payment of future dividends by the Company shall depend on the Group’s earnings, working and capital expenditure. Premised on this, the Board wish to give the assurance that it will consider the payment of dividends as soon as the Group returns to profitability." - from MAG 2019 Annual Report
So if you are investor, let just hope the next 2 quarters MAG record a good profit. So the company will consider giving dividend.
The Profit from red to green..this is the phase where investor observing the company in their watchlist basket but awaiting moment to buy. As retailer we need to ride before that happen. I buy
