Will not have any impact to Frontken as TSMC biz is massive relative to Frontken's contract.

Only impact towards TSMC in their planning to expand capacity in next 3-5 years since EUV compoenents were affected in the fire.

TSMC, which supplies to almost all the world's leading chip developers, has earmarked between $40 billion and $44 billion for capital expenditure this year, much higher than its already record-breaking spending of $30 billion for 2021. This puts the chipmaker on track to meet its plan of investing $100 billion over the three years till 2023.

TSMC CEO C.C. Wei said the overall foundry industry, as the business making chips for the others is known, will grow 20% on the year in revenue terms, and that TSMC will outperform this with growth in the mid- to high-20% range. The CEO also increased the forecast for the company's compound annual growth rate for "the next several years" to between 15% and 20% in U.S. dollar terms, higher than the previous forecast of about 10%.

The Taiwanese chip titan told clients last August that it will hike prices by up to 20% for its various manufacturing services, citing its capital spending plans. TSMC's biggest price adjustment in a decade started to have an impact in the last quarter of 2021, and could boost the company's profit margin for 2022, according to multiple analysts' estimates, despite concerns that the year-long boom in chip demand could start to slow.

Fed’s Harker calls for ‘action on inflation,’ sees 3 or 4 rate hikes likely this year

Philadelphia Fed President Patrick Harker said Thursday he sees three or four interest rate hikes this year as likely to fight inflation.

The policy tightening would be in response to inflation that is running at the highest level in nearly 40 years.

While Harker expressed support for hikes and the end of monthly bond purchases, he favors waiting before decreasing the Federal Reserve’s $8.8 trillion balance sheet.

picked up some mother and daughter today..when opportunities knock, either we leave it, or we take it..as long as we have a long term horizon and understanding of the company, risks is manageable at this levels..just my opinion

gemfinder, different people have different risks tolerance levels, some ppl can only do FDs, some can do options/warrants...and there are various other factors as well, like what is the person's average costs, and qty, and time horizon etc..so to me it is manageable, maybe not to u...just my opinion :)

U need to invest A tech company that's constantly make money , have constant growth and expansion , then u will sleep well at night no matter what, instead u will feel excited when price is dropping. U want to make big money , u need to look beyond what ppl look, think beyond what people think

Used to be, we dint have AI, cloud base digital system, 5g, EV, bitcoin mining, metaverse... the world is changing into high tech environment, tech stock will not be a cynical stocks anymore...
