Don't see any smoke around but some dark clouds drifted by at end of day.

First 3 Qtrs results are fine, all up YoY and QoQ this year, inspite of Covid-19 disruption. Besides in the past few days, the eGovernment Services contract has been extended for another 3 years and the vaccine deal signed with Anhui Zhifei Biopharmaceutical Co Ltd happened. These are going to contribute positively to FY21.

Today, KWP did some trading with a net buy. No sign of EPF so far. Could be BBs and/or TS Wong himself doing something. Everything seems hunky dory on this ship. Think I'll hang around and see happens.

to stock is not fun but cock is fun......

the reason u see buying and selling by the same institutional buyers is becos KWAP or epf has appointed several agents to invest on their behalf. say A , B C,D and E.

So A and B might BUY , whereas C and D sells. E might just hold on to it.

so it would look as if they are buying and selling on the same day and we say they are sohais.

Don't read too much into institution buy/sell.
Different fund managers changing positions. Netted off, it is a big buy in considering how much the price was pulled back. Consider it a 2nd chance to catch the boat.

Vaccine news was a surprise. NIIS belum lagi.
Once budget fully cleared by Dewan, expect more announcements to be made.

Myeg halal Covid 19 approach is one of the best strategy among the rest of the vaccine runner. Malaysia Halal certification is world recognize. Imagine the rest of the Islamic countries in the world will be confident in purchasing this halal Covid 19 vaccine vs others vaccine in the market.....this really open door not just Malaysia domestic but the rest of Islamic world.

@stan88 Sinopharm Vaccine is also Halal. A number of middle eastern countries have already ordered this vaccine, including UAE, Bahrain, Morocco, Egypt and Jordan...

---------------

“Abu Dhabi (UAE)’s ulema council has announce that there is no issue with the halal status of the G24 (Sinopharm) vaccine,” he said.

https://www.theedgemarkets.com/article/khairy-govts-covid19-vaccine-deal-only-pfizer-and-covax-others-are-private-arrangements

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 7): The government has so far only dealt with pharmaceutical company Pfizer and the Covid-19 vaccine global access (COVAX) for Covid-19 vaccine procurement, according to Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Khairy Jamaluddin.

Other arrangements done by private companies are purely commercial deals that have nothing to do with the government, he told the Dewan Rakyat today. These arrangements, nevertheless, must be approved by Malaysia's medical regulators such as the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency.

"I would like to inform market investors in Malaysia that the announcements [by private companies related to Covid-19 vaccines] do not mean that they are procured by the government. So far, the only procurement made by the government is with COVAX for 10% of the population, and Pfizer for 20% of the population. These arrangements are made directly by the government without the use of any middleman or third party," Khairy said.

Khairy was responding to the concerns raised by Kuala Selangor member of Parliament (MP) and former health minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad and Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii on the procurement of Covid-19 vaccines by the government.

Specifically, Yii pointed to My EG Services Bhd (MyEG), which recently announced that it had entered into a cooperation with Anhui Zhifei Longcom Biopharmaceutical Co Ltd to conduct phase-three clinical trials and subsequent commercialisation of its Covid-19 vaccine in Malaysia.

Yii questioned how MyEG, with no track record in logistics or medical supplies, can be allowed to approach such contracts.

To this, Khairy clarified that any local company is allowed to negotiate with international companies to be their agent or distributor of Covid-19 vaccines in Malaysia.

"We cannot control if they want to make a commercial arrangement with other vaccine manufacturers from outside of Malaysia. But they must get the necessary approvals from Malaysia's regulators," he said.

During his winding up speech on the debate on Budget 2021 at the Dewan Rakyat today, Khairy also dismissed the allegation by Gua Musang MP Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, who claimed that the government had exhausted the entire RM3 billion of its allocation to buy Covid-19 vaccines from Pfizer.

"I can categorically state in the Dewan Rakyat today that those claims are baseless and not true at all. I cannot disclose the actual price of the procurement with Pfizer due to the NDA (non-disclosure agreement). But our agreement with Pfizer and also with COVAX is still way within our reach of the RM3 billion for 70% of the population," Khairy said.

Razaleigh had questioned if Malaysia was rushing into a deal to purchase 12.8 million doses of the vaccine that would only cover 6.4 million people or 20% of the population.

On Nov 27, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced that the government, through the Health Ministry, had signed a preliminary purchasing agreement with Pfizer to obtain 12.8 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine to meet the immunisation needs of 20% or 6.4 million Malaysians.

The agreement, signed on Nov 24, is aimed to ensure the government has access to data regarding the vaccine's quality, safety and effectiveness while also ensuring access once it is ready for distribution.

Earlier in September, Khairy said Malaysia would be joining 172 countries to participate in COVAX to obtain access to the supply of Covid-19 vaccines.

He said the Malaysian government was also preparing the agreement to join the Coalition for Epidemic and Preparedness Innovations, and a government-to-government pact with the Chinese government to gain access to vaccines developed by pharmaceutical companies in China.

The allocation for the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation was today passed by the Dewan Rakyat in a voice vote with no objection from the opposition bloc. So far, nine ministries' budget allocations have been approved with voice votes.

Whatever approval required for the vaccine distribution, MYEG will get it for sure. they are with MOH... plus the only halal vaccine distributor in the country so just think rationally and hold. The drop was because of parliament debate which from explanation its clear that companies are all allowed to have their own deal as long as they get regulatory approval. MYEG is pro in getting approval from gov due to good track record and relationship. $2.85-$3.3

MyEG will be the sole distributor of the vaccine in Malaysia upon successful completion of the phase three trials, it said in a statement.

PETALING JAYA: My E.G. Services Bhd has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Anhui Zhifei Longcom Biopharmaceutical Co Ltd to conduct phase three clinical trials and subsequent commercialisation of its Covid-19 vaccine in Malaysia.

MyEG will be the sole distributor of the vaccine in Malaysia upon successful completion of the phase three trials, it said in a statement.

Under the terms of the contract, the companies will strive to achieve compliance to halal status requirements to secure halal certification from the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia and ensure increased acceptance from the global Muslim population.

Zhifei is a subsidiary of Chongqing Zhifei Biological Products Co Ltd which is listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange and has been engaged in the biological products industry since 2002, particularly the production of vaccines for human use.

It is presently one of five Chinese companies conducting phase three clinical trials of the Covid-19 vaccine in various parts of the world.

The MoU is valid for three years from the date of signing and may be further extended upon mutual agreement.

The contract is not expected to have any material effect on the net asset per share and gearing of the company for financial year 2020 (FY20) but is expected to contribute positively in FY21 upon successful completion of the phase three trials and commercialisation of the vaccine.
