CIMB Q3 result out, impressive earned RM1.023bil, exceed Q2 (RM872mil) >17% jump with EPS 11.74 cents. Business structure & transformation in on right path, Q-o-Q improved tremendously. Compare to 4 other big banks, this is way good to value with high potential growth. People get skeptic due to Trump issue, exclude this .. look on real business natural and fundamental, CIMB is on good transformation path, climb back to original RM1Billion earning as previously. MY TP 5.60 in next 2mths.

CIMB dispose out those not profitable business, move toward to online digital e-business growth with better Cost-Income ratio CIR, NIM & NPL is improving Q-o-Q. From what I see, It's cost restructuring & transformation is on right path.

erm, not sure about your source, but none of your statement seems right. those biz disposed off are profitable but are considered non-core and is taking up capital. there're no visible significant digital initiatives by CIMB, CIR improved because of MSS last year, NIM and NPL is flat or worse off qoq. not saying that CIMB is not good, but it would be better if you factcheck your comments so that readers are not misled

Looks like no dividend for this quarter... same like last year. Need to wait for Mar next year. If only they could increase the dividend yield for CIMB to be close to MBB then I believe the share price would be much higher

"Although CIMB looks set to achieve management’s guidance for 9% ROE
and 11% common equity tier 1 (CET1) ratio by end-2016, nk sharesthe prospects for

I no banker so dunno what they talking about. 2 things guided me when I buy bank shares :-

1. Improving profit
2. Decreasing bad loan

For CIMB, it seems from my reading of the research report, which i only understand may be 20%,
1.yes improving profit got oledi,
2.decreasing bad loan not really achieved

My banker fren told me, bad loan can easily wipe out profit if not take care properly, he say 1 bad loan need min 6 new good loan to replace in order to maintain same profit...so this is my understanding

a QR is not good just based on headline net profit. this quarter was boosted by one-off gain on disposal. for banking stocks, ideally you should also look at the net interest margin, pre-provision profit, provisions and the other key ratios such as impaired loans. plus foreign investors direction is also important because banking stocks have highest proportion of foreign shareholders. if you don't look at these, there's no difference from punting

Linges, those are fake hurdle. It may look as if big chunks of lots taken out but when you look at the actual buying numbers, it's really small. Operator simply remove sell Q when they buy in, this create illusion that buying is strong.
