Rate cut is not the main issue, in fact net interest income improved 6% despite the historic low opr. The killer is loan provisions, especially the bulky 1b full provisions made for two accounts which slashed about 10 cents from net profits this year

Mbsb is even worst, loss two quarters consecutively. Anyway, comb profit down 80% but price is not correlated in the current market goreng environment. There are reasons why pbb and hlb traded at a higher premium.

Highly recommend to buy the stocks before end of this month. The 6 month loan deferment will be over on 30 September. Banks will start to earn again soon after.

Onshore IRS (interest rate swap) markets are pricing ~70-80% chance for one last BNM rate cut (25bps) of this easing cycle, either to occur at the Sept 10 or Nov 3 meeting. This would mean BNM hitting our estimate of the policy lower bound of 1.5%, by the end of the year

FYI. End of March CIMB Directors cleverly agreed to help the Govts popularity by generously granting a moratorium on all loans including hire purchases for 6 months. At that time CIMB share price was RM 4.23 which was already low due to Covid. The result of your Directors generosity has been a steady dive in the value of shares from RM 4.23 to RM$3.21 today, say a RM1.00 loss per share. That's a loss to shareholders of RM 9,922,933,000 yes ....... RM10 Billion direct cost to shareholders on top of the loss of the interim dividend. How very generous of your Directors to give away your savings and income. Please let them know how happy you are, and how delighted you are with their politicking on behalf of the Govt.

But this debasement of the world’s reserve currency is good news for bitcoin holders, according to analyst and TV presenter Max Keiser, because it will push its price to all-time highs.

“Buffett’s move into Japan, along with his GOLD investment, confirms he’s getting out of USD BIGLY,” Keiser tweeted on Monday. “USD is trending lower today, about to break key support. Bitcoin – Gold – Silver Will all make new ATH in the near term.”

So weird, from the comments I read here, it’s like most of you have no housing loans. Can refer your statement for sept/oct payment, the outstanding interest for mco period is already added together with principal. Why would banks not make money in floating rate loans???
