Vaccines not working, hotels bankrupt, airlines bankrupt, construction companies bankrupt, travel agencies selling fish now, universities begging for students, banks cannot lend.

Meanwhile the only stocks thriving on Bursa are Gloves with BILLIONS of ringgit of PROFITS because of great companies like Supermax and Top Glove.

Phenomenal.

Government print more money, more more money. Bank goes down. Once bank goes down savings gone. Currency value no value, country bankruptcy.
Buy glove stocks earns millions as long as using this country currency become toilet paper.
God bless you

Wanna ask experts here: is CIMB Group in deep deep crisis right now?

Posted by WarrenPuffet > 2020-10-28 09:00 | Report Abuse

Iomas the information we can provide you is the company is still doing fine eventhough Covid-19 brings chaos but few banking company is big and solid enough to overcome the situation.

While if you talk about deep deep crisis I believe none of us here are able to answer you. Even if the bank is truly in deep problems. They will hide it and try deal with it internally. So worry about this is no use.

today that the imposition of the latest Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) might require renewed focus on growth support amid a sharp resurgence of Covid-19 infections in the country. It also said the latest extension of the CMCO to Nov 9 might threaten the lower bound of the government’s 2020 Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth forecast of -3.5% to -5.5%.This may provide an anchor for BNM’s decision on Nov 3

CIMB is very reliant on making money out of loan interest. So when MCO, moratorium is launched. CIMB is the one that felt the most pain. There's also lots of reports regarding how sloppy CIMB internet banking is, hackers and such.

But at the same time, CIMB is the biggest shareholder of Touch N Go, which is probably the most used e-wallet in Malaysia right now.

And its a huge bank with big influence in many countries, not just Malaysia. So at this price, I'll say its just temporary, better buy and hold while it slowly recovers. Really nothing to worry about, bank bankruptcy is really a rare thing, especially this big, they'll keep on continuing to dominate for many years to come

This situation is similar to 2008 financial crisis, where my uncle get to buy $10, then he sold it off at $70 on 2017, not to mentioned the dividends alone paid more than his capitals.

The Monetary Authority of Singapore's Central Digital Currency project code-named "Ubin" has completed its final phase. Ubin is a collaborative project with industry to explore the use of Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology for the clearing and settlement of payments and securities, using a digital version of the Singapore dollar. The project concluded with the key finding that an international settlement network, modelled after this payment network prototype, could enable faster and cheaper transactions compared to conventional cross-border payment channels, proving commercial potential.

Also in the process of development, the People's Bank of China's e-yuan has already been used for more than 1.1 billion yuan worth of transactions as part of a series of ongoing pilot programmes. The Digital Currency Electronic Payment would allow consumers and businesses to pay for goods with e-wallets rather than traditional banknotes.

CIMB is just too cheap at this level. Currently trading at basically the same level as during the financial crisis in 2008 (need to adjust for bonus issue in 2010). I know the recent result was not great but when the economy rebound back next year, profit should be a lot better. I dont think any other major malaysia banks trades at 2008 level except CIMB.

FYI, from the lows recorded in 08 the share price actually almost tripple in 2 years time (mainly because profit also improve significantly). Maybe this is an opportunity for those with 3 years horizon.

BRUSSELS — France announced a second nationwide lockdown and Germany moved to the very edge of one on Wednesday, testing their pandemic-weary populations as they tried to stop a mounting new wave of coronavirus infections from swamping hospitals and undoing hopes of economic recovery.

The new measures followed on the heels of severe new restrictions in other European countries, from Belgium to Italy to the Czech Republic. While they mostly fell short of the total lockdowns of the spring — a “lockdown lite,” the Germans called it — they raised the specter of a dark winter of relative confinement, leaving leaders in Paris and Berlin pleading with their frustrated publics to follow the new rules.
