Diversification to spreadout risk vs concentration of capital to maximize gain😀 (The main banking portion of my fund got stucked in CIMB & Maybank for now- freeing them soon- may swing back here then- if it breakout for real- stay above 0.82)

KUALA LUMPUR (March 12): RHB Retail Research said Malaysia Building Society Bhd is set to scale higher after it formed a bullish set-up.

In a trading stocks note on Tuesday, the research house said that the stock broke past the 78.5 sen resistance to chart a bullish candlestick with surging trading volume, indicating strong buying interests.

“The bulls may persists, driving the stock towards 82.5 sen resistance (52-week high), followed by the 90 sen mark.

“In the event it falls below the 75 sen support, this would invalidate the bullish set-up,” it said.

Considering the fund's cost, a return of only 26.50 sen is not satisfactory.

US brewing for a crash down, trade with care. World market is behaving in a very abnormal way although Msia market is healthy but will still be affected if there is a shake up in the major world markets. If you have bought just hold on to it, up or down, do not chase it is my advise.

Ya by all metrics mbsb is undervalued

Posted by EngineeringProfit > 2024-03-17 17:41 | Report Abuse

Let's watch how the price movement decide on this matter.

Posted by Loy Loy Cheong > 2024-03-17 19:44 | Report Abuse

Yes, if you refer to the PB, it is under value by about 35%, but it is traded at this price because PE is poor for this counter compared to the other banks. MBSB in my opinion has the poorest management amount banks and it is the main reason why it is constantly under perform. If you have holding power, just hold for its dividend until the management can turn it around and expand their profits, but it usually disappoints.

Posted by EngineeringProfit > 2024-03-17 20:08 | Report Abuse

Obviously the poorest management- yes

Good morning, there are still sensible discussions among forumers here. Let's keep it healthy. MBSB is different from other banks. The largest shareholders are EPF & PNB, which are GLCs. GLCs are hybrid companies that may prioritize social services instead of profits. So many times they failed to reach targeted profits. The impact of government intervention in MBSB.

Private entities should never be use as a subsidizing enterprise, the banks should work for investors and social subsidy should be the responsibilities of the gov. Gov intervention will leave a bad taste on the investors.

Say what you want to say but that is the reality. Just look at how screwed up government-owned entities like TH, Felda, LTAT, KWAP, and so on.
