Minority always in disadvantage position under poor disclosure regime. Regulators should require management to provide reasons for significant changes on key items, stop major SH from dealing before importance announcement, etc. Anyway, here is just good for talking as good things we want most likely cannot be materialised as people with power are the winners and choose inaction.
Despite being non-haram and despised, in FY 2014 for e.g. B. Toto contributed a total of RM800m in the form of gaming duties & taxes to the government which I believe was accepted with open arms.
If haram then better don't take the tax revenues - give it back to the shareholders. Where is the government going to get this sum of money if they stop it?

Latest account shows BJToto have 4 million own shares against 131 million the company is allowed to buy back. Company is asking for renewal of mandate to buy back.
