Very defensive in nature this counter, if you like Help International Corporation (HIC), you will even like SPB more.

You are in UMW & SPB. Both my favourites. Both very good fundamental counters. Now if you have extra money for a one year view get some MP Corp on weakness. MP Corp will be at least 2 baggers

your are not on alert at all. SPB already made announcement dated on 6th August 2014 on the extension of time for the execution of SPA until 30th September 2014.

The announcements made by the Company on 3 March 2014 and 6 June 2014 relating to the Proposed Disposal refers.
(Unless stated otherwise, definitions used in this announcement shall carry the same meaning as defined in the announcements dated 3 March 2014 and 6 June 2014 in relation to the above matter.)
The Company wishes to announce that the Parties have mutually agreed to extend the deadline for the execution of the SPA in respect of the Proposed Disposal to 30 September 2014.
This announcement is dated 6 August 2014.

This 12 sen ordinary dividend plus 38 sen special dividend (total 50 sen) -- there is no ex-date yet, right? I believe it needs to be approved by the shareholders first. Based on previous SPB dividends, the ex-date tends to be in April, with the payment given out the following month.

Selangor Properties is one of the remaining old school counters on KLSE. I remember this name from when I was a child. In the early 70s, RTM's Rangkaian Biru in English used to have a segment called "Share Market Report" around 6.30pm or so. The announcer would read out the counters one by one. Not just the closing price but also the day's movements! Newspapers would publish these too - prices with the number of lots in brackets). Gradually, due to the number of counters, it became impractical.

The 12 sen final dividend is encouraging. If this is maintained in the future, SPB looks like a very good counter for fixed income.
