technically, price is going to lower bollinger band, MACD is crossing, bearish may take place and price may keep dropping, perhaps to support level.

However since Indonesia implemented the export tax structure in late-2011 to boost its palm refining industry, the refineries in Sabah started increasing the discount to RM100/tonne so they could compete against the Indonesian refineries.

- Going forward as Indonesia’s refining capacity increases and domestic CPO price improves, we believe the discount could decline back to its historical level of RM40/tonne.

- Refining capacity in Indonesia is estimated to climb from 25.1mil tonnes in 2013F to 30.9mil tonnes in 2014F.

- We remain positive on the plantation sector

What is Short Selling?

Short selling is a technique used by investors to profit from the falling price of an overpriced market or security.



In 1992, George Soros “broke the Bank of England”. He risked US$10 billion that the British Pound would fall and was proven right. The next day he made US$1 billion from his trade. His profit eventually reached almost US$2 billion.



If an investor thinks that Stock X is overvalued at RM25 and is going to fall in price, he may sell it for RM25 even though he does not own any units of Stock X. If the price of Stock X falls to RM20, the investor will purchase the stock from the market to settle his trade and thereby make a profit of RM5 per share.



On the other hand, if the price of Stock X goes up to RM30, the investor will incur a loss of RM5 per share to buy Stock X to settle his trade obligation.

i still believe in the demand for palm oil as rising demand from especially China / India and it`s the cheapest available vegetable oil. Current situation is the usual cyclical one.

KUALA LUMPUR (July 30): Crude palm oil (CPO) futures contracts on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher today due to bargain buying amid a rebound in soy oil prices on Chicago Board of Trade.

Phillip Futures Sdn Bhd Derivative Product Specialist David Ng said the increase in demand at the prevailing low prices was also seen as supportive, but the likely rise in global vegetable oil supply in coming months may limit the upside.

"We reckon that production may remain strong despite a temporary pick-up in demand; this will pose a risk in inventories level," Ng told Bernama today.

August 2013 gained RM30 to RM2,283 a tonne, September 2013 rose RM45 to RM2,256 a tonne, October 2013 added RM48 to RM2,215 a tonne and November 2013
garnered RM46 to RM2,205 a tonne.

Volume advanced to 57,149 lots from 44,346 lots yesterday and open interest increased to 249,942 contracts from 238,102 contracts Monday.
