Let us do a non scientific / non expert /non professional calculation of the PE. Let us assume future earning is about the same ( normally for planter - 3 qtr is a good qtr) and previous quarter loss is one off incident, then EPS for whole year is about 0.85 cent X4=3.4 cent. At RM1 , the PE is about 29 time. Like many counter - share prices do not reflect performances. May be the company is investing in the future , may be , may be .......

It is an interesting time. So time to buy ? time to sell ? Hold ? ?????

By RHB: TDM may climb after its firm close yesterday. A trader may opt to purchase the shares if the stock stays above MYR1.00, with a close below MYR0.98 as the stop-loss. The price target is MYR1.20, if the MYR1.10 resistance is broken. A failure to stay above MYR1.00, however, could see the stock trade lower, and the downside risk will increase if the stop-loss is triggered.

RHB think the EPS will go back to 6 sen thus the FUTURE PE is about 16-17 time. Do you buy the forecast figures with CPO price expected to go up slightly ? heavyth asked what do I think the CPO prices will be ? I don't know. I ain't Nate Silver. But let say the base for comparison is 2500 ( a pull from the air first half year CPO price) , so when CPO goes up to say 3000 ( that is about 20% increase), what will the impact on the bottom line for TDM ? Will it double after the government's windfall tax ? If one think it will double then the EPS will jump to 6 or 7 cents. If one think bottom line should only jump 30% then the EPS will only jump to 4 or 5 cent. How much is the impact will depend on what the management do such as expenses and efficiency. But if one is a trader then all these info is irrelevant.
Interesting time indeed, with equity shoot up the roof for both US DJ and here.

for me, i only look at the profit of the company. TDM's 9 Months 2013 eps=1.44sen. if Q42013 can get eps 1 sen, total=2.44sen, pe ratio=33 at 80sen. TDM yearly output for 2011 was ffb=625,764 cpo=113,915 pk=29,230 for 2012 was ffb=558,583 cpo=112,251 pk=29,514 for 2013 9 months ffb=339,190 cpo=69,577 pk=17,772. Q32013 output ffb=137,136 cpo=28,302 pk=6,927, if Q42013 output same as Q32013 output, then total for 2013 ffb=476,326 cpo=97,879 pk=24,699. the output keep decreasing year by year.

I bought this stock at 78c and sold 1.02. I definitely will be eyeing to buy again as this is a good counter. Was wondering if the flood affecting this Q, will be able to get some at bargain later. Just my thought. Will monitor and see how it go.
