Anything is possible BUT I blieve it is UNLIKELY. TO reject the application when shareholders have already approved, THERE HAS TO B VERY GOOD GROUNDS FOR IT. From what I can see no grounds.... since the company has ZERO GEARING FOR A V V LONG TIME ALREADY. My take is that this is strictly consolidation to FLUSH OUT the traders!!
That's my 2 sen worth.

just one advice, be an investor here..if you want to gain fast bucks, definitely shiny days are over for a time being. be very afraid! today, hengyuan and krono is the hottest chick..translating to why selling pressure is high here..

very low probability that the proposal will be rejected by high court..but now is the time your trust being put to test..whether you have a faith or not in alcom..

i remember last 2 months when alcom unofficially declare 20.5sen but nobody get interested with alcom..just smooth and silently sailing....until everybody starts flowing in and buy for a quick profit..yeah, it happen again now.

Zoomsbooms. Spot on. To be exact, the proposed final special single tier dividend of 20.5 sen per share was officially made on 9 May 2017. Relying on my successful experience with RCECAP which implemented a similar capital repayment and share consolidation, I bought into Alcom at 1.10 only. Comparatively, what Alcom offers is 4.7 times more than what I've got from RCECAP. To me, after much considerations the whole proposal is as simple as "beli, goyang kaki, tunggu duit mari." When the capital repayment is being announced on 31 May 2017, more people come to know about Alcom's proposals, its price starts to fly high.

In the "early days" of Alcom's proposals, there were very few members participating in the forum. LPTan68 and I are practically speaking to each other until Jefflim1234 came into the scene. Since then, the forum atmosphere has become boisterous and active with more people coming in. By the time Alcom gained strong momentum I've at one point of time made handsome profits (since I collected early @'1.10), big enough to cover both special dividend and cash repayment plus profits even before ex-date.

hahaha..im actually 1 of them..i still remember i came across the unofficial news when alcom was around rm1.1++, i just ignore it coz nobody seems interested..when i come back it's already rm1.8++...this time im not letting it go away again

Part 2. "TIME VALUE OF MONEY" On Why ALCOM IS A GOOD INVESTMENT BUT NOT FOR SPECULATION!
Let us assume that there r plenty of guys out there who have MARGIN accts or other financial facilities from financial institutions.
For ease of illustration I shall assume:
1) a simple interest rate of say 9%
2) assume the purchase price at say 1.70
Ok. Here goes:
Capital outlay for 100k shares = 100,000x1.75=
175,000.00
Therefore interest per annum = 175,000×9/100 =
15,750.00
From capital repayment =0.32x100,000=
32,0000.00
Use cap repayment to service interest,
32000/17500= 2.03 yrsx12mth = 24.3 mths.
Therefore the capital repayment will allow us to service the interest for 24 mths WITHOUT A SINGLE SEN FROM OUR OWN POCKET.
Meaning we have purchase 24 mths of TIME FOR ALCOM to go back up 32 sen from the time of purchase to BREAK EVEN. That is NOT EVEN taking into acct of the divs that the company might pay during these 24 mth period!!!
Why would INVESTORS NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS IS WHAT BOGGLES MY MIND??? WHY SPECULATE WHEN the GOLDEN EGG IS RIGHT B4 YOUR VERY OWN EYES!!!
JUST like yuanlong57 says"BELI, GOYANG KAKI DAN TUNGGU DUIT MARI".
Of course people will argue that it could drop further n only then go in n buy or speculate more. Yes that is possible BUT nno one can buy at the LOWEST PRICE OR IT COULD JUST FLY AWAY!!!
As INVESTORS V must always assess what is a good VALUE TO INVEST!!!
Anyway there r plenty of other factors shown to us as to why v should not miss this golden opportunity
A) The HISTORICAL HIGH PRICE THIS YEAR
B) THE DIVS GIVEN OUT THIS YEAR IS THE HIGHEST EVER EVEN THOUGH PREVIOUS YEARS DIVS WERE STILL PRETTY CONSIDERING THE PRICE OF ITS SHARES
C) WITH CAPITAL REPAYMENT U GUYS WOULD NOT OF TO WORRY ABOUT SERVICING THE INTEREST FOR THE NEXT 24 MTHS!!!
D) U WOULD HAVE BOUGHT YOURSELF 24 MTHS OF TIME FOR ALCOM TO REACH ITS EQUILIBRIUM PRICE.
OK. THAT'S IT FOR NOW. SHORT OF TIME. MAYB WILL CARRY ON WITH PART 3 IF TIME PERMITS.

From my perspectives there's only 1 REASON. TOO MANY SPECULATORS TRYING TO MAKE A FAST BUCK. LIKE I SAID B4 SPECULATORS WILL GET BURNT SIMPLY BCOS THE MAESTRO KNOWS V WELL WHAT IS GOING ON. Therefore the ride will just b a little more bumpy b4 it reaches its destination. So all ALCOMATES WHO R TRUE INVESTORS WILL JUST HAVE TO B PATIENT N DUN GET TOO DISTRACTED BY ALL THESE NOISES AROUND US.
Having said all these again let me emphasize that nothing is guaranteed in life. V just have to weigh all the prod n cons that is being presented for us to EVALUATE.

Prices r dropping bcos of speculators having to dispose of their purchase when T + 2, 3, 4 is up. Some dispose earlier due to fear etc...etc. Others r weak holders who disposes due to emotional fear, etc etc... This however will give a chance for TRUE INVESTORS to buy the shares at great value!!!!

Oh one other thing GUYS/GIRLS. G check out WHO the MAJOR SHAREHOLDER IS FOR KIAN JOO AND CANONE and SEE FOR YOURSELVES WHAT THE share prices of these counters r and the divs given out AS COMPARED TO ALCOM!!! Just to GIVE U GUYS SOME HOMEWORK TO DO!!!! Ha ha ha!! Then DECIDEWHAT U WANT TO DO!!!!
