gweilo. laughdieme liao. where are you?

holding Insas for 4 years and never taken 1 cent of profit and see it go up and down and up and down.

at last, still lower than your cost.

this is bolehland, no such thing as long term investment.

wakakakaakakaka.

how many shares sell way below book value ? how many are loaded with cash and in the position of insas ? this thing could double, triple, quadruple and still be cheap !

the chart looks fantastic the news is all positive and the share buyback is just beginning in earnest. i've rarely seen such convergence of reasons to buy a share especially one selling at 35% of its nav and with tones of cash and short term investments! it's like a GOLD mine !!!

Will fair value of financial assets changes be more positive this coming quarter since inari now is 4.25 ? Vs last q inari was at 3 ?

I don't think so... Fair value changes of Inari will not reflect on Insas's quarter result. Not very sure as I didn't see it last time.

Insas shares rally, investors attracted by cheap valuations

BY TEE LIN SAY

PETALING JAYA: Shares of Insas Bhd rallied as investors chased up the stock on the back of cheap valuations and its stakes in Inari Ametron Bhd, Ho Hup Construction Co Bhd and Formis Resources Bhd.

Insas, which saw its share price rise some 94% last year, was the second most actively traded counter yesterday. It closed up 24 sen or 25.53% to a 52-week high of RM1.18 on volume of 138.23 million shares. The stock hit an intra day high of RM1.20.

At this price, the stock is traded at a 44.92% discount to its net tangible asset of RM1.71. It is also trading at a historical price earnings ratio of 7.72 times, according to Bloomberg.

“The stock is undervalued. Perhaps some investors have realised the value of Insas’ shareholding in some of the public listed companies, especially its stake in Inari Amertron,” said one dealer.

For its second quarter to Dec 31, 2013, Insas’ net profit was up 34.52% to RM40.92mil on the back of a 69.15% increase in revenue to RM80.67mil. Insas has cash of about RM153.62mil for the period.

For the six-month period, net profit was up 65.22% to RM100.32mil on the back of a 37.58% increase in revenue to RM153.16mil.

The improved profits were due to better results from its stockbroking unit, the information technology unit and its 34% associate company, Inari Amertron Bhd.

Inari’s share price is up 62.25% to RM2.64 on a year to date basis. Based on Inari’s market capitalisation of RM1.29bil, Insas’ 34% stake is valued at some RM438.6mil.

Inari completed the acquisition of Philippines-based opto-electronics maker Amertron Inc Global Ltd in the middle of last year and almost immediately earnings jumped significantly.

For the first quarter to Sept 30, 2013, Inari Amertron’s earnings jumped 182.7% to RM20.9mil from RM7.4mil previously.

Insas, via Insas Plaza Sdn Bhd, also owns a 3.34% stake in Ho Hup Construction Co Bhd and some 10.16% in Formis Resources Bhd.

On its unlisted stakes, Insas wholly owns stockbroking company, M&A Securities Sdn Bhd. It also has a 20% stake in Gleneagles Medical Centre and 43.4% stake in the Melium Group.

Executive director Datuk Thong Kok Khee is the single largest Insas shareholder, with an indirect stake of 23.11% or 162.59 million shares.

Insas’ principal businesses consist of stock broking, investment holding and trading, project and credit financing, property investment and development, IT consultancy, manufacturing and trading, car rental, wine merchant, retailer of high fashion products and operators of food and beverages outlets.

As long as TKK is around and control the highest stake on Insas, the company will not realize its value. Will buy once TKK is gone.
