Gaming Despite lower number of draws in the current quarter (2023 : 40 draws; 2022 : 42 draws), Gaming revenue of RM537.1 million was higher than previous year's corresponding quarter by RM55.1 million or 11.4%.
The increase was due to improved net sales per draw, especially the 4D Jackpot game, where there was a strong jackpot run during the current quarter.
The Gaming division recorded a pre-tax profit at RM60.5 million which was RM20.7 million higher when compared to RM39.8 million recorded in previous year's corresponding quarter.
The higher gaming pre-tax profit was mainly due to higher gaming sales and coupled with lower prizes payout and operating expenses recorded in the current quarter
Based on the continued growth trend of all products in the past six months, notably 4D Jackpot game and Magnum Life game, the Board is cautiously optimistic that the performance of the gaming business for the second half year remains promising and encouraging.
Magnum n SPToto should be benefited from upcoming budget as will allow on-line betting to recover tax losses due to illegal gambling activities indirectly promoted by PN policies !!!
Ahya why you so kan chiong. Later mid of next month it will start go up. Now is collection period..with constant dividend and online gambling it will easily pass rm2..
Online betting legalized in Malaysia? They won't allow it. In addition, we already have illegal online betting which can buy 4D number in Singapore and Indonesia too
DPS and EPD improving slowly post covid years. Challenge for NFO remains with illegal NFO in the market. Wonder how the company will handle this and gain their market share again. Nevertheless, current price remains attractive if future growth improves.
I chased and bought MAGNUM at 1.16. This is a Position Trade, as SPTOTO has moved fast but MAGNUM was lagging behind. I took this trade due to FOMO - despite full investing position per plan, still had cash generated from past dividends and so, utilizing a small part of that - it was either that or sit and earn 3+% in FD rates. MAGNUM dividend yield is 5.2%, so, I feel little risk to take this trade.
As it is a trade, there's a stop loss. I am betting that in this bull run, it won't revisit 0.995 and so, if it goes below 0.99, I may cut loss.
