The automaker that, for the longest time, could do no wrong is capping off a rough 2022 with an awful December.

Tesla lost about $219 billion of market value just this month entering Friday’s session, which is almost as much as Toyota — the second-most valuable car company — is worth. Price and production cuts in China and heavy discounting in the US, where Tesla’s growth seemingly was unabated for a decade, has combined with investors growing increasingly concerned that CEO Elon Musk is more focused on overhauling Twitter than keeping at bay the many legacy automakers pushing into the electric-vehicle market.

Musk’s pledge late Thursday that he’ll stop selling Tesla shares at least through next year isn’t doing much to help the stock. After all, he made similar proclamations in April and August, only to then keep offloading billions more.

What Tesla needs next year are reinforcements for its product line. The company recently started delivering its long-awaited Semi truck — several years late, it should be noted — and plans to start producing its first pickup, the Cybertruck, in 2023. Tesla is far from finished as a growth story, but a tough economy with high inflation and rising interest rates will challenge even the indomitable Musk.

Palm oil surrenders gain on demand woes
in Commodity News 23/12/2022


Malaysian palm oil futures ended lower on Thursday, surrendering some gains after hitting a 12-day closing high in the previous session, as poor demand weighed on sentiment.

The benchmark palm oil contract for March delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange fell 67 ringgit, or 1.69%, to 3,893 ringgit ($880.37) a tonne.

Exports of Malaysian palm oil products for Dec. 1-20 fell 2.1% to 923,642 tonnes from Nov. 1-20 as shipments to key market China plunged, cargo surveyor Societe Generale de Surveillance said on Wednesday.

Demand from China has slowed as COVID-19 swept through the world’s most populous country largely unchecked for the first time after an abrupt shift in the country’s containment policies.

The world’s largest palm oil producer Indonesia’s 2022 palm oil exports are estimated at 34.67 million tonnes, down from last year’s 37.78 million tonnes, partly due to a temporary export stoppage in April, the chief executive of its palm oil fund BPDPKS said.

The agency revised down its estimate of crude palm oil inventory by the end of 2023 to 4.37 million tonnes as the country expands its mandatory biodiesel blending programme.

Worries over floods in Malaysia disrupting supply and hurting production in the world’s second-largest producer, however, helped limit losses.

Malaysian towns were left inundated with muddy water in the wake of torrential rains, footage shared on social media and verified by Reuters showed, forcing more than 72,000 people to evacuate as rainfall and floods were forecast to persist.

Dalian’s most-active soyoil contract DBYcv1 fell 0.7%, while its palm oil contract DCPcv1 lost 1%. Soyoil prices on the Chicago Board of Trade BOcv1 were down 0.2%.

In 2018 Bplant bought 11,579.31 hectares agriculture land in Sabah from Dutaland’s subsidiary for a total purchase price of RM750 million.

Now Jayatiasa value at 60 cents
Market Cap: 584 Million
NOSH: 974 Million

And FFB production is now about 1 million ton per year. To me that a value buy.

Malaysia slams EU deforestation-free law for blocking palm oil market access


Dec 23 (Reuters) - Malaysia, the world's second largest palm oil producer, on Friday accused the European Union (EU) of blocking market access of the edible oil with a new law that prevents the sale of commodities linked to deforestation in the 27-country bloc.

The EU earlier this month agreed on a new law that requires companies to produce a due diligence statement showing their supply chains are not contributing to the destruction of forests, or risk hefty fines.

Did anyone know how can you feed the world population and keep the population healthy, smell good, look good and feel good without palm oil?
Note: Hygenic, personal care, toiletries, cosmatic, soap and detergent are among some of products make from palm oil and palm kernal oil

For far too long the Western world and media are using propaganda to undermine the palm oil industry and suppressed palm oil price (With misinformation on health and enviornment issues) because they know their oil seeds cannot compete with palm oil. And if you cannot compete, then the only way you can win is by smear campaign or strong-arm tactic /trade barrier and I am sad there are still Malaysians parroting their propaganda.

Palm oil is an incredibly efficient crop, producing more oil per land area than any other equivalent vegetable oil crop. Globally, palm oil supplies 40% of the world’s vegetable oil demand on just under 6% of the land used to produce all vegetable oils. To get the same amount of alternative oils like soybean, coconut, or sunflower oil you would need anything between 4 and 10 times more land. Malaysia and Indonesia already long ago stop any new land opening for palm oil.

Producers will benefit from a steady increase in consumer awareness about olive oil’s health benefits coupled with the growing popularity of the Mediterranean diet in the next 10 years, European Union officials predict.

In the bloc’s 2022 – 2032 medium-term outlook, the E.U. agriculture and rural development department also analyzed how the growth of the olive oil market would impact competing vegetable oil markets.

“Olive oil is expected to increasingly replace vegetable oils in food consumption particularly outside the main producing countries, driven by a healthy image of olive oil, and an increasing popularity of the various Mediterranean cuisines,” officials wrote in the outloo.

Msia getting more landslide pasal deforestation and many blame the hujan cause the landslide. Apa ni. Pokok hutan semua kena terbang itu sebab air hujan from gunung or bukit takda absorb extra water and terus jadi banjir leh. Haiyoh. See the map Msia many places gunung or bukit bukit jadi botak then how takda banjir getting more serious leh. More hujan more landslide more banjir more and more ppl kena affected every year.
