Jtiasa FFB Production Output :

> 2002 started replanting:

July-Sept: FFB MT

2019: 425,801
2020: 326,209 ( - 23.4 % vs 2019 )
2021: 195,447 ( - 54 % vs 2019 )
2022: 263,948 ( - 38 % vs 2019 )

July 2023 : 110,269
August 2023 : 120,313
Sept 2023 : 129,158

Total = 359,740 ( - 15.5 % vs 2019)

> July 2024 : 101,601
August 2024 : 123,613
Sept 2024 : 118,183

Total = 343,397 ( - 19.4 % vs 2019 )

> Compared 2024 July- September to 2023 is reduced by - 4.54 %

👉 Question 1 ) Peak Production Season is May to November, why FFB production output is reduced ?

1.) More Leased land is terminated ? Or rented land ? Or became Sawah Padi ??

2.) Palm trees r getting old ?? Due to replanting cost ???

3.) Due to Tall Palm trees ( old trees ) labour skill shortage ???

P/S : 2019: 425,801 compared 2024 343,397 is reduced - 19.4 % 😱 in 5 years .

KonLee what Shl be the reduction % in another 5 years ?

4.) How is the replanting schedule being executed, why FFB production output is fluctuated so High ??

Case Study on Solar RE cost n Pricing :

1.) LSS

👉Industry players estimate the tariff for LSS projects with BESS to be at 36 sen/kWh to 40 sen/kWh, but it depends on the hours of the battery storage.

👉“It could [be] double that if it goes [on for] 12 hours or 24 hours,” the industry source says.

👉For comparison, the average generation cost stands at 26.2 sen in Malaysia while Singapore’s is 20.69 Singapore cents (69.52 sen).

GETS tariff (Green Electricity Tariff) sold by Tenaga was recently raised to 21.8sen/kwh effective August 2023, (3) System Marginal Price under the NEDA wholesale market is averaging at ~22.7sen/kwh (as at September 2023), a decently large premium to the previous LSS4 winning bids of 18-20sen/kwh (for 30-50MW packages).

KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 13): A proposed minimum wage increase will raise the Malaysian plantation sector’s operating cost and push the companies to spend more on automation, Public Investment Bank said.

The Ministry of Human Resources is planning to propose raising the monthly minimum wage to RM1,700 from RM1,500, Nanyang Siang Pau reported, citing unidentified sources. If carried out, Public Investment Bank estimated that the operating cost of plantation companies will rise by up to 3%.

A higher minimum wage will push the labour-intensive industry to allocate capital for “automation of more work processes to reduce the headcount going forward”, including spending on robotic arms, drones, and other specialised machinery, the house said.

Sime Darby Plantation aims to have 100% local workers in its estates by end-2027
By Priyatharisiny Vasu / theedgemarkets.com
07 Mar 2023, 11:36 am

KUALA LUMPUR (March 7): Sime Darby Plantation Bhd (SDP) plans to employ 100% local workers by the end of 2027 with a minimum wage of RM3,000.
According to SDP’s group managing director Mohamad Helmy Othman Basha, this move would help the plantation company reduce its dependency on foreign workers and propel it towards increasing mechanisation and automation on the ground.

“The end game is to reduce manpower as much as possible. For Malaysia, we want to recruit our locals. We want to have 100% local workers. I know it's a lofty target , but it is where we are moving by the end of 2027 with a minimum wage of RM3,000,” said Mohamad Helmy at the 34th Palm & Lauric Oils Price Outlook Conference & Exhibition (POC2023) on Tuesday (March 7).

He added that prior to the  Covid-19 pandemic, the integrated palm oil producer hired 75% of foreign workers to work on the estates, while 25% represented local hires.
“We are now only 60% foreign workers and 40% local. We want to change the prevailing perception of the plantation sector as a dirty, dangerous and difficult industry. We want to make the job easier and not laborious. Of course at the same time, cost and productivity is important,” said Mohamad Helmy.

He added that SDP aims to increase its land-labour ratio for oil palm plantations to one worker for every 17.5 hectares, from one worker for every 15 hectares currently.
SDP is actively involved in accelerating its automation and mechanisation targets in several areas of its business, including rolling out mechanisation initiatives in its upstream operations, and software and hardware development for automation and robotics initiatives.

Plantation owners appealing to government on excess profit levy EPL on their business. Why? Costs have gone up. Revenues by not so much.

They are asking the government to lower the EPL or raise the CPO target price to a higher level before triggering this EPL.

All the above shows plantations are not enjoying a bonanza period for now, unlike the incessant fake news by our Singaporean friend, who has thankfully disappeared.

Haha during Callvin blowing on B100 , I asked him what Shl be the retail price !!!

Indonesia Mau Pakai Biodiesel B100? Mahalnya Minta Ampun!
Ardhi Suryadhi - detikFinance
Minggu, 18 Feb 2024 14:00 WIB

Yes, some of our planted trees have reached maturity stage. We are in the early planning stage where we are assessing the correct strategic entry point to start harvesting cycle as we need to ensure there are sustainable trees supplies that meet the harvesting condition under government's policy to achieve economy of scale.

Yes, we are actively seeking to purchase more FFB from external parties as one of the sources to ensure better utilization of our CPO mill.

The target CPO mill utilization rate for FY2024 is over 60%.
Around 10% of FFB was sourced externally in FY2023.

However, the Segmental Information (Note 33 - Page 165-166 of AR) showed a segment profit from logs trading of RM15.821 million offset by timber manufacturing loss of (RM7.717 million). Please explain the disparity in the figures provided in Management Discussion and Segmental Information.

The RM19.9 million loss reported on page 6 & 13 of AR is the figure after consolidation adjustment, while the RM15.821 million profit under Logs trading on Note 33 page 165 of AR2023 is the figure before consolidation adjustment. For Palm oil industry, the average salary level in the plantation sector is around RM2,000 to RM2,500 per month.

I think income is not a problem for the plantation sector to comply with the new minimum wage. Salaries for the palm oil industry are higher
