Tobby Anyway, after his GHK saga, i very much doubt he will get easy access to financing with our banks! I mean our banks are badly burn over GHK! 31/01/2022 4:10 PM
Meaning the short to the medium term he is not bankable. Any expansion or new venture difficult to get financing. Growth will not be fast for the next 5 years for the group going forward.

Bankers also have to take risk. Nothing is guaranteed profits. Bankers can’t blame GHK. Bankers calculated GHK future profits at least 20 times but ....after how many years GHK still bankrupt. How to blame GHK? So smart and brilliant Bankers mind ... Bankers also ATE DUST AT LAST.
GHK close shop because of Covid! Our local banks made their assessment minus Covid! So can't blame anyone! But for Director Lim the implication is huge! He no longer has the privilege to go to banks and ask for money!
@MorningGlory123 That is bloody good news wei. Omicron quickly run through community so we can all move towards endemic phase quick. Looking forward to borders opening soon :)
HONG KONG — A research team in China says it has developed a new type of antibody that could neutralise Omicron and future coronavirus variants.
The surprise discovery — made while researchers were investigating another disease — would put humans "a step ahead in the race" against the pandemic, said lead scientist, Professor Huang Jinghe of Fudan University in Shanghai, on Tuesday (Feb 1).
Prof Huang said their method could turn these natural antibodies into a powerful arsenal to aid the battle against the pandemic. The new antibodies could be produced by a standard method.
"Mass production will not be a problem," she said.
SINGAPORE - Cruise operator Dream Cruises has filed to be wound up, following its parent company Genting Hong Kong's woes.
This comes two weeks after the operator said it will continue operating cruises here, even after its parent company Genting Hong Kong filed to be wound up last month.
There are still Dream Cruises sailings currently running in Singapore. The Dream Cruises website also showed that there are cruise departures from Singapore scheduled in the coming days, including one as early as Friday (Feb 4)
South Korea extends business curfews as Omicron cases spike
Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum says extension necessary to slow spread of Omicron after Lunar New Year celebrations.
South Korea extended COVID-19 social distancing rules on Friday for two weeks, including a 9pm curfew for restaurants, bars and gyms, amid soaring cases of the Omicron coronavirus variant.
Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum said extending the restrictions, which were due to end on Sunday, was necessary to slow the spread of Omicron amid fears the Lunar New Year holiday, which ended on Wednesday, may have fuelled infections.
KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 4): The opening of Genting SkyWorlds (GS) will accelerate Genting Malaysia Bhd's (GenM) business recovery trend as it is expected to be a crowd puller, provide new income stream and benefit other facilities within Resorts World Genting (RWG).
RHB Research, in a note, said the imminent opening of GS on Feb 8, 2022 will create excitement among visitors and can potentially lead to higher footfall for RWG.
"The theme park will likely operate at a 50% capacity or 20,000 visitors initially due to the standard operating procedure in place.
"Assuming 10,000 visitors a day, we estimate the theme park alone could contribute an annual earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation of RM210 million to RM290 million," it said.
RHB Research has maintained its 'buy' call for GenM with a target price of RM3.58 as it is a direct beneficiary of tourism recovery play.
As at 11.50am, GenM shares rose one sen to RM2.80 with 2.12 million shares traded.
Meanwhile, RHB Research opined that Genting Hong Kong’s (GenHK) recent announcement on potential cross defaults will unlikely affect GenM as it does not have any holdings in GenHK.
"Its minority shareholders are likely to reject any potential proposal that is related to the bailing out of GenHK," it added.
