divident ex date entitile date and payment date ex date mean the last day of buying the share to get the dividend and entitle date is the date the stock price will adjust for the dividend.. Then payment date? The date they pay us dividend? if I buy the share before ex date and sell it after the ex date.. At the payment date they pay us by cash or give us stock?
The ex-dividend date, also known as the reinvestment date, is an investment term involving the timing of payment of dividends on stocks of corporations, income trusts, and other financial holdings, both publicly and privately held. For sales before this date, the dividend belongs to the new owner; for sales on or after the date, the seller is entitled to the dividend.
Ken: usually most ppl will sell before ex date as usually after ex date the share price will drop or maintain for a while before start moving. Usually they will either let u choose take cash or reinvest into share. If u sell already then best to choose cash as buy share usually will end up odd lot
If u dun have auto bank in for dived end they will send u a cheque on the payment date. Hupseng one should have received by now if u bought before the ex date
Tom, now my turn have a Q. If let said I hold 1000units of pbbank share at rm20, they declared 30% dividend, may I know how much dividend that I entitle.
30% u should look into the par value of the stock... every stock has different par value... can't simply use 0.30... if u use 0.30 that means the par value is RM1.00.. does the par value of pbbank is RM1.00? u should look into the parvalue in annual report and multiple with 30% and number of shares. For your information, digi par value only RM0.01 if I'm not mistaken. If it declare 30% dividend and you only holding 10lots, that means u will only get (RM0.01 X 0.3 X 1000) = RM 3.. see the difference?
And about the cash dividend and stock dividend. It will stated in the announcement dy.. for your cases, if it already announced RM0.02 dividend per share, that means it will pay as a cash dividend, no way it will pay as a share dividend by converting it back to the share value.. the company will only pay share dividend by bonus issue
@tom: this is because the par value of public bank is RM1.00, that's y 30 percent is equal to 0.30... zzzz. if hupseng declare 30 percent then the dividend is only 0.03 only
aiks almost hit for my bjcorp lolll sigh little bit more>.< i can feel tat after i grap profit from there just nice time enter hupseng again heheheh tp below 1.1:p
