海事通用次季转盈5607万

（吉隆坡23日讯）海事通用（M&G，5078，主板交通与物流股）在2021财年次季，转亏为盈5606万5000令吉，或每股7.75仙，去年同期净亏1214万9000令吉。

该公司今日向交易所报备，因为重组收益和较低的财务费用，促使净利上升。

在截至10月底的次季，营业额年跌13.27%至4756万5000令吉，因为冠病疫情冲击原油需求量所致。

在首半年，海事通用也是转盈4108万2000令吉，上财年同期净亏2058万2000令吉；营业额年跌5.07%，至1亿286万4000令吉。

执行主席拿督莫哈末阿兹兰指，石油需求下降预计将持续到明年下半年，或直到各种刺激措施及疫苗广泛使用并推动经济复苏为止。

“不过，大马及主要贸易伙伴如中国、日本和新加坡的经济逐步开放，及疫苗的积极进展，为油气上游与下游业务在明年捎来希望。”

O＆G是资产重工业，所有O＆G公司都必须在不动产，厂场和设备（PPE）上投入大量资金，所有这些PPE都是通过定期贷款/债券融资的。

而且由于资产和借贷，大多数O＆G公司都面临会计亏损，因为PPE折旧成本将占其支出的很大一部分，而融资成本甚至更糟。

对于M＆G来说，最初这家公司的市值在70-80仙之间，但是由于O＆G在过去几年中的下降趋势，其收入甚至无法负担其折旧和融资成本，而且很多借贷即将到期，因此它面临破产的风险。

但是，在过去的18个月中，M＆G努力重组其债务，最后他们说服银行将贷款转换为优先股，并且该优先股可以以每股10sen的价格转换为普通股。

重组后，M＆G短期债务已得到解决，并从债务重组中受益，因为它从债务重组中节省了约1亿令吉的融资成本。通过新的债务期限，M＆G解决了其现金流问题，并节省了未来的利息成本。

对于银行家，他们将贷款转换为优先股，因此现在他们成为公司的股东。由于该优先股不可转让，因此这些银行家必须将其股价推高至RM0.10以上，然后他们才能将优先股转换为普通股。
