maybe one day warren buffett will come to acquire media chinese.. haha...since he likes newspaper business so much. actually they have penerated into china market viat magazine and some IT application like byread . recently just join hand with Chu Kong Shipping Enterprises to penerate china zhu hai market via ferry business.Chu Kong has a huge passenger flow
volume of about 13 million a year with at least an hour stay in the transportation vehicle. can earn some adex earning from there.

Giving free paper in universities and colleges is pretty normal. Just part of social responsibilities they are fulfilling. We don't expect a company who just know to make profit but not knowing giving back to society, don't we?
The circulation numbers will check later. But if reduce a bit in paper circulation but growing in web user still good.

Media chinese own 73% of One Media Group . One Media Group ventured to china market via magazine and transport advertisement earning... that's the link. when ppl stay an hour in the ferry. what they will do, they will read magazine, watch tv and etc.. similar to tv advertisement you see in bus.

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 2 (Bernama) -- The government has decided to terminate investigations on the import of newsprint in rolls from Belgium, Germany, Sweden and the United Kingdom based on section 26(1)(e) of the Countervailing and Anti-Dumping Duties Act 1993.

In a statement, the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) said the termination, with regards to the imports of newsprint in rolls, was in public interest.

The investigation was initiated on April 5 after the Investigating Authority received a petition from Malaysian Newsprint Industries Sdn Bhd which claimed that the imports of newsprints into Malaysia from these countries had caused serious injury to the domestic industry.

everybody is pessimistic about newspaper business now, even there is increase circulation in Asia. Amazon ceo just bought share from Washington Post shareholder family member. does that mean that IT will replace traditional newspaper business in the long run? How can Media Chinese continue to be profitable and increase revenue is something that the management need to answer.

We should think that MediaC is not just selling newspaper. They are in media business and the format can be traditional newsprint or, digital, put it this way. As long as the media business is growing, asia country is reading chinese news, this business still in good demand.

If base on Tan KW posting material,I'm observe that most of the business material is plug from Sin Chew or Nan Yang.
Rest of the publisher possibly just bias at entertainment only.

of course. management also said to expect good 1st quarter result. as this quarter will only reflect the general election adex increased. last quarter result was for january - march, this quarter is for april - june. election happened in may.
