This is a very good question. Do you buy air-ticket by referring to the oil price?
The answer is No.

Oil is a cost for AA and this cost can be transfer to customer if AA wants.

But why AA don't transfer this to customer?
Because they want to use it as weapon and continue be competitive compare to their competitor.

So the management do it for long term benefit of the company instead of making decision based on the share price.

You can pick out the right facts from many sources confirming that AA will be paying dividend every 2 years being their new committed dividend policy with the most lucrative bumper dividend to be paid before closure of fiscal year ending 2018 which means in the upcoming Q3 or Q4.

The only reason I can think why all stocks no move these few days is because everybody wait and see

There is this 1MDB topic, Malaysia 1Trilliondebt , oil pice up too many distraction and make investor worry !!

But good also for us to collect !!
Collect in those that you have faith in!!
Blue chips they are the best !! Don’t collect others !!

Instead of speculating, just look back the last 10 years data on AirAsia! This will guide you on the likelyhood. The fuel surcharge acts as a relieve valve if fuel price is eating too much into the margin! As long as AirAsia is maintaining its lowest cost structure, it will still come off well eventually!

Many ppl talked like AA going to close shop if oil keep going up and as if other airlines don't run on fuel. Ppl hv forgotten that many years ago oil was more than US100 a barrel and AA continue to fly. Msia is an O&G producer country and with oil price at this level, more ppl will be employed and have more money to travel.

Springtime, you must understand many of Airasia's subsidiaries are running at losses, year after year (despite TF said revenue engine lah, time to break even lah, etc). Higher oil price will put more pressure on.
