yoy I will not take into account for re-measurement gain and disposal of subsidiary(about 885mil) as benchmark but still yoy drop to about 50%...fuel cost and maintenance remained high for this quarter but ASK/COST & ASK/COST EX-FUEL was decreased compare to last 31dec 2018 quarter...Q3 might have tight cash flow due to special dividend of 90sen but i dunno whether can offset through asset held for sales ...management still have monitor their cash flow to ensure in line with lease liability and their trade payable as maintenance cost can deduct from prepayment if not too high... for those who go AGM ask for redbeat loss and any solution to mitigate the loss?current sentiment favorable AA due to weak demand on brent oil and increase in inventory in EIA report despite OPEC and Russia cut production...but still need to depend on Next month OPEC meeting...

I thought this qtr no dividend as already got it from last qtr. If got few cents dividend this qtr already very happy. Really no see such a huge dividend coming this qtr even IB also got it wrong (70 cents)

Just my 2 cents:

The result is the same like last year when you think of the special onetime gains from the sold jets! Thats good when we think of the high oil price.

That he now gives 90sen dividend is not good from my point of view. Too much cause he will need the money in the company.

Given 90sen now says the profit bad thus need to give 90sen. Got dividend said little now 90 sen said there is other motives. Well, buy and sell at own will. Can never satisfy everyone. No doubt this is a sweetener but it could means TF is rewarding longer term investors that will also support him for his long term goal to go digital

Overall, I am quite neutral about it.

Benefits of this 90sen dividend to me:-
-Allow me to recoup 1/3 of my capital invested for better investment opportunity.
-significantly reduce the share price so the P/E ratio won't be too high after factoring the lower Forecast EPS for Q1,2,3 combined. Remember, AA PE was 4.X before Q12019 Release. Now its 8.X. Might encourage more investors.
-Helps to distract the masses on the less than satisfactory Q1 Results. Thank God load factor increased, extra income from Ancillary, but Lower Fare Price and Higher Leasing, Maintenance cost kinda subdued it.

Disadvantages of this 90 Sen Dividend:-
-Cant help but wonder when TF & Kam being 30% shareholder, are they doing this for themselves?
-AA got the cash due to sale of aircraft, I would rather them spending this bulk of money on acquiring good acquisition, marketing or investment.
-IMO, it doesnt make the share any more valuable. Afterall, the share price drops. In a way, you have merely transferred the value of 90c to your bank account. RM1.XX is still stucked.
