IPO price was $1.60... 5% div yield @ current price unless they eliminate dividend from October onwards. Major shareholder(74%) has not sold a single share since 2010.
There is a RM13.2 million one-time write-off of properties, plants and equipment in the current quarter, due to cessation of its operation in Foshan, China. Meanwhile, on prospects, JCY said demand for HDD digital storage capacity continued to increase by 7% over the last quarter. Time to hold & accumulate!
a few months ago, I have said it here that this company is in a business that is going down. when HDD(Hard Disk Drive) capacity increases (from 4TB per drive now to 10TB per drive in the next few months) the demand HDD component will be even lower. JCY is in the HDD component business..... Unless JCY can branch out to other business with her cash pile. This is a sunset business. You should judge by yourself.
Part of the risks of investing. Co has net cash of over 240 million on the balance sheet. In 2013, every quarter reported losses, so shares dropped from 1.50 to 0.50+. Went back to almost 1.00 when the results improve.
Meanwhile, holders compensated with dividends from a liquid balance sheet.
There's only 3 HDD company in the whole world. (WD, Seagate and Toshiba). JCY is the largest supplier to Seagate and WD(which is 90% of market share). almost no chance to expand sales any further. The only solution is to shrink and cut cost
I thought it would crack 60c & close @ the low but it didn't...so good sign. Unfortunately, time is not on the side of call warrant speculators like kk1kk1 HAHAHA!
Goodiescat hi Goodiescat and all members, I really got a curious about JCY why last two qr Jcy loss many this time even worst net loss increase However they still pay out high dividend Dividend Yield (%) : 11.16
in this level is king of dividend in Bursa , what is your opinion , is JCY got many cash so dont mind give or super rich counter , too much money ?
Big share holders of JCY are Singaporeans, To get money out to Singapore, the easiest way is to send out as dividends. Can some guru tell us, is it true that foreigners who owns listed companies cannot simply sell shares to take out large chunks of cash ? They will need some kind of approvals.... if what i've guessed is correct, then, that answered Angielim's question.
Aiyah....JCY can give very good dividend despite losses...bcos very good positive cashflow mah....!! Just look at the balance sheet...the cash balance has been growing & growing loh...!!
Why leh ?? The equipment to make HDD are very very expensive mah....and JCY depreciate this equipment very fast between 3 to 5 yrs loh...!! Normally manufacturing depreciate over 10 years mah...!!
If demand for HDD not growing quickly, JCY no need to keep investing n upgrading on this investing expensive equipment...and just use the existing machinery loh....!! This help to conserve a lot of cash mah...!!
the concern is not about cashflow; of course with strong cashflow position the company is able to constantly declare dividend from past earnings. my concern is more towards a longer perspective, with constant losses (hopefully this last Q is the last losing quarter), the company will eventually be cash-tied and unable to expand. i think most investors share my views, thus reflected in the current share price. agree with the comment on M&A for a SSD company or even further R&D towards a SSD production line......
HDD cover and base is a mechanical process business. SSD is a semiconductor and PCBA Electronic business. (SSD cab be visualise as the RAM cards in our computer). Totally different. In my opinion, it is very difficult to switch over.
Western Digital close down surely gonna give domino effect on JCY..business future for JCY really bad..but not sure about their stock..some company business very bad but stock price still go up.
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
