if a toll concession company can loan to build a highway, the government can also do that. why we need to privatize the toll collection? this was the previous government's juice. unfortunately, the old man started it first.
we shall see ALL highway concessions to be abolished and let's the government to operate it.

5 We hope is toll free all the time but it is too hard at this moment.
however, we shall also not just easy saying toll free after 11pm is meant for mat rempit or dunk people. this toll free after 11pm is a compromised action & a part of traffic management. Paying different toll fees at different time zone enable the government to manage the traffic flow. This is practising in many countries. let's open our eyes.

Same terminology - to manage the audience, the cinema give discount for watching movies before 12pm. on wednesday which has less audience, they give discount too. this is to "divert" the audience to non-peak hour and let them make MORE money at peak hour as they are many audience could not get ticket during peak hours.

Let's not just complaint because we like to complaint.

as what pjflower said, we can see more chances to have more link roads disperse from highways after government take over the highways.

complaining is easy, if we were to wear the government shoes with limited fund, easy to have 100% toll free? be realistic.

If gov borrowed money to build highway like what private sector concession company was doing, then rakyat will demand for free passage through gov highway. Bcos gov money comes from taxing rakyat. This is the reason why gov ask private sector concession company to build highway lah...

a bit la. still my entry price is end of last year one. objectively, PH is lousy other than so called corrupted less. GST should be maintained, SST gives another round of inflation to consumers. abolish toll at taxpayer expenses, otherwise who else?

but indicatively, if they still charge congestion fee, it might be indicative the selling price of toll to government should be on normal price instead of too suppressed price.

if the all the concession assets - water, power or even toll concessions taken with expropriation value than Malaysia will turn into the least favorite for foreign investment in Asia . In the end, what the Malaysians benefited from this expropriation - almost nothing as toll rate still as usual and just a re branding exercise to "congestion fee". Congestion fee only workable to developed countries that has good public infrastructures and transportation system, which Malaysia is lacking behind. Another issue is the implementation, Malaysia is good at mooting new ideas but implementation always lacking

somebody here is more stupid complaining buying highway concessionaires rather than doing HSR. This people has no brain but merely wants to shout and mermoring.

HSR is not a necessity and is not feasible to do at all. In addition, there is alternative to travel. everybody in the market know that. Doing HSR is pouring money to no where. Buy highway concessionaires and give discounted rates at different time zones help the rakyat. In addition, the government will also earn back some by collecting toll at discounted rates.
