stella, Ssteel’s QR was not bad but not exactly good. There’re too many uncertainties at this point. Personally, I think the poor market sentiment towards steel is why it’s stuck at such low PE.
If the EPS was 12-14 cents for the recent quarter, then it would have Lifted itself from the bad spell. At EPS 8 cents, which is boosted by tax refund, it was really sitting on the boarder line which gave no clear msg. Will next few quarters be better (I seriously hope so). Or will it remain stuck at EPS 8 cents?
EPS 8 cents per quarter is actually pretty good itself. That’s if the market finally give it a PE or 8-12...
Ooi Teik Bee I follow international accounting rule, compared Q4 2018 against Q4 2017, the result is good. I hope I am not wrong. Please note that I am not an accountant. Thank you. Ooi 24/08/2018 20:06
There are many predictions....but only one or none is correct. Predicting is a risky game people. I only make decisions based on the facts in hand.....but i remain open to all possibilities. I don't try to act God.
As with most steel company, SSTEEL is very cyclical in nature. Instead of looking at the past 4 quarters result, you should take a look at 10 year past result. Then you ll have a clearer picture. The best time to buy a steel stock is when it reported heavy losses and sell when it is still reported good result like now. The current low P/E is meaningless as it can turn negative at a blink of an eye.
@Shpg22 - you should know what is going on rather than digging the graves of 10 years.. they did close the business which was bleeding a ~year back that resulted them to be net positive.. so to revert back to -ve is not going to happen... Also P/E cannot be meaningless but is definitely a factor... The share price is undervalued... and its got to do with the sentiment thats global right now but has got nothing to do with the strong company fundamentals..
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
