Federal Reserve officials reduced interest rates by a quarter-percentage point for the third time this year and signaled a pause in further cuts unless the economic outlook changes materially.

Hong Leong Bank Bhd (HLB), via its subsidiary Hong Leong Bank Vietnam (HLB Vietnam), has launched its mobile banking platform, HLB Connect, in Vietnam, which enables customers to enjoy fee-free financial services and shop for e-vouchers in a single platform.

The mobile banking platform takes only two steps to sign up, and comes with a ready-to-use Visa virtual pre-paid card, HLB said in a statement today.

On top of that, upgrading to a savings account is also done in HLB Connect, so customers would not have to step into a branch while the physical Visa debit cards will be delivered to them, it said.

I think this Hong Leong Bank Branch people rejecting / preventing customers from opening bank accounts is quite normal.

The call center especially did not acknowledge my complain after a few hours.

Only After I wrote in email to complain the Customer Service Call center send an sms acknowledgement to my handphone.

Also the email reply on unable to contact me seems already preplanned.

My impression is that the Branch Staff, Customer Call Centre and The email feller all colluding to destroy Hong Leong Bank.

In any case, its none of my business so I moved on.

If I have any share in Hong Leong Bank I would have sold it.

Like I said, other banks treat me like God.

DY is relatively low, est price will drop further amidst weak macro conditions, rising competition from payment system service providers, non stop breeding of foreign funds, etc. TP=DY4.2%.
