V.S. Industry tumbles in active trade after fall in earnings, flat revenue

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 17): V.S. Industry Bhd shares tumbled in active trade this morning after its net profit fell 7.1% to RM39.81 million for the first financial quarter ended Oct 31, 2018, from RM42.87 million a year ago, mainly due to a loss on disposal of a subsidiary and foreign exchange loss, resulting in a lower earnings per share of 2.32 sen compared with 2.61 sen previously.

At 9.05am, V.S Industry lost 29.91% or 35 sen to 82 sen with 10.06 million shares traded.

Its quarterly revenue was flat at RM1.08 billion compared with RM1.07 billion a year ago.

Nevertheless, the group declared a first interim dividend of one sen per share, payable on March 12.

Winter is coming; D/G SELL

1QFY7/19 core earnings was below expectations due to losses at overseas ops. However, the bigger concern lies in 2HFY19 whereby VSI has received a decline in order flow from a key customer in Malaysia. Uncertainties beyond 1HFY19 prompt our FY19-21 cut in net profit forecasts by 42%-58%. Our TP is lowered to MYR0.82, having rolled forward our valuations to CY20 on a lower PER peg of 13.5x (20% discount to our average peg of 17x for tech stocks within our coverage). Downgrade VSI to SELL.

gap down due to lower profit is fundamental. If no fundamental the share price won't drop when bad news come out.

(1) due to many tax laws put in force by chinese communist government,(五险一金)
(2)and effect of trade war between china and america,(贸易战) plunged the consumers market in China in deep contraction.5 million small and media companies declared complete shut down in China Kuantung/Shenzhen Province for last 10 months alone.
