Ta Win Holdings is listed on Bursa Malaysia and has a market cap of RM478 million. Currently, it supplies copper wire rod to Tesla and Toyota via Ireland-based auto parts supplier Aptiv. Aptiv’s customers include 23 of the world’s 25 largest original equipment manufacturers (OEM) suppliers.

Ta Win also has an exclusive sales contract with Posco International (South Korea’s largest trading house) to supply copper wire rod to South Korean copper foil makers. The contract, which is worth about RM2.7 billion, is to supply 65,000 metric tonnes of copper products over three years to major Posco customers lljin Materials and SK Nexilis

KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 18): Asia Poly Holdings Bhd, a manufacturer of cast acrylic sheet, has acquired another 51.1 million shares, or a 1.5% stake, in Ta Win Holdings Bhd between June 10, 2021 and Feb 16, 2022 for RM7.52 million in the open market. This brings Asia Poly's total shareholding in the copper wire producer to 191 million shares or a 5.59% stake.

"The acquisition was carried out for the purpose of investment," said Asia Poly in a bourse filing on Friday (Feb 18).

It noted that the stake in Ta Win will subject Asia Poly to risks inherent in Ta Win's businesses such as competition, price as well as fluctuations in its share price.

The purchase amount represented 5.2% of Asia Poly's audited net assets as at Dec 31, 2020. Asia Poly said the acquisition was funded by internal funds.

Currently, Asia Poly executive chairman Datuk Yeo Boon Leong is a non-independent non-executive chairman of Ta Win and owns an indirect 8.13% stake in the latter. Datin Seri Azreen Abu Noh is an independent non-executive director of both Asia Poly and Ta Win, but does not hold any shares in Ta Win.

At 3.37pm, Ta Win shares were up one sen or 6.45% to 16.5 sen, valuing it at RM563.32 million. Asia Poly shares, meanwhile, were down one sen or 5.88% to 16 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM135.87 million.

Even if based on my average buy at 0.14 if you look back at history, no NEWBIE would have lose their money if they are in this stock. You may be right. Since Dato Yeo's group is pumping the shares...they may have same DNA like Asiaply...anyway 25~30% returns is already good enough returns for short investment?

I called him Chef Yeo. Goreng at the right time for his own benefit. I will ignore them as he the tendency to take profit when time is right. Look at how he exited Ta Win when QR is bad. What I’m hoping for is solid QR, then we don’t need to worry about this guy, other institution will start coming in. Let’s monitor the QR real closed before you make any long term decision. This is my advice to newbie, not simply buy or simply sell when those who has no foundation start spreading baseless rumours.

Share price could not be the same as Genetic because NOASH is 3,414 millions (too big) whilst Genetic share before bonus issue NOASH only less than 200 millions and price goreng up to about RM50.00. So, imagine how many billions you need to pump in (with NOASH of 3,414 millions) to a price of RM50.00. More than RM1.00 would be very happy loh.
