KUALA LUMPUR: Barakah Offshore Petroleum Bhd has bagged a Farm-In Agreement from IPC Malaysia BV. The contract is for Barakah to provide maintenance, construction and modification services in the oil and gas fields offshore of Peninsular Malaysia to IPC Malaysia’s client, Pan Malaysia.

The tenure of the contract is from November 2018 to July 2023.

However, there is no firm contract value mentioned in the filing with Bursa Malaysia.

“The total value of the contract is not fixed and will depend on the actual scope based on work orders to be issued by the client from time to time throughout the duration of the contract. The contract duration is from Nov 22, 2018, to July 10, 2023, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract,” Barakah said in the filing.

Barakah said the contract is expected to contribute positively towards the group’s earnings and net assets per share for the contract duration.

Barakah’s share price rose half a sen, or 5%, to 10.5 sen, with a market capitalisation of RM87.76 million. The counter saw some 24.77 million shares traded. The shares have fallen about 60.38% over the past year.

KUALA LUMPUR: Barakah Offshore Petroleum Bhd has secured a five-year contract to provide maintenance, construction and modification (MCM) services for Sapura Energy Bhd’s oil and gas fields off Peninsular Malaysia.

Its wholly-owned unit PBJV Group Sdn Bhd won the job from Sapura Exploration and Production Inc to provide the services from 2018 to 2023, said Barakah in a stock exchange filing.

The contract that started on July 11 has no fixed value and will be based on work orders that will be issued by the client from time to time, said Barakah.

The group expects positive contributions from the contract towards the earnings and net assets per share of the group for the duration of the contract.

“These contracts are expected to contribute positively to the group’s bottom line and replenish our order book, while keeping us occupied for the next five years,” Barakah chief executive officer Nik Hamdan Daud said in a separate statement.

“Moving forward, we believe 2019 will be an exciting year for us as more oil and gas projects are expected to come on stream following a recovery in the sector,” he said.

Barakah’s share price rose 1.5 sen or 10% to close at 16.5 sen yesterday, with a market capitalisation of RM136.36 million

Revenue 50M loss 40M at Q119, revenue 70M loss 21M at Q418. What is the operating cost you guess? So if no revenue 150M Barakah won’t make money. If no make money how to pay loan interest?
