Friends, just hold on to your Smartag, it will come after September when the collection starts....cheers....definitely not for contra as I mention very much earlier but to keep for mid or long term.
I also bought in at .26 a few weeks ago... still holding plenty of WCT & WCT-WB. Plus... bought some digista & digista - wa weeks ago. POS is moving up slowly but steady. That's all good news. Some of the picks I made without reading these forums aren't doing so great. But eh...I guess that tells me something. :-) Anyway, it's nice to follow along with bro chong & you others regarding your logic & analysis of the above shares. Obviously, slow & steady CAN win the race! :-)
Assumption : 1)MSC status, no tax 2)secured 1st Sept contract, duration allowed extension for 3 years. Should be, since under Govt's ETP, and that BN wins. 3)that fixed at RM10 per container movement- "transmit".
Took a while to study this as recommended by Chong. Since contract is still not sign, its anything goes. Looking at the way they have gotten Royal Customs and under the radar now of the ETP, I think the chance of securing contract is very high.
with 7 mn transmits per year will translate to 70 million. With a possible discount of wholesale and bulk purchases, say 55 mn is derived. Mind you, this is still not included in whatever their expansion plans will be for growth.
with no gearing, but just administrative and infrastructure cost of averaging 900k, and expected to increase to 1.6mn if deal is sealed, that will translate to 23 sens EPS. if the assumption above holds, Smartag will have doubled its market capitalization by next year. Little wonder why the chairman (highly influential with govt and sarawak especially) is upbeat for this potential recurring income.
This year's increase from 21 sens to 25-27 sens i think fully reflected of the news. So expecting to be sideways movement for price in 2012 for Smartag. suppose the last quarter starts, 1/4 of the 55mn (13.75m) could be translated. But i think most will be utilized to investment of infrastructural development. Good to buy between 24-26 sens. I think those who had gotten in at 21-sens, you will no longer sell with so many good news in mind i guess.
This counter, taking a cue from Amedia, has capability to be transferred to Main Board if such a return is realised.
I think Chong is very kind to tell you all this particular counter.
I will be going in if price can hit below 25 sens. FV by next year, if all in place, is at 0.58 and potentially higher or other revenue base secured.
Brother KC Loh, correction.....contract already signed & now starting collecting $10 to $18 per container starting 1st September 2012....this is a 3 years contract to cover 1 million containers & after that another extension of the present contract provided that by the end of the 3 year contract, 1 million containers must be covered.
Cheers...& yes, all profit is tax free, "kuan loh" to be exact.
chong, seriously consider putting your postings here and not another forum. alternatively, add a link to it. Lowyat forum is very messy if not following it closely!
I don't think it is going down but up instead as we are very near to the "collection" date on 1st September 2012....I think it might hit 30 cents by September.
currently smartag market cap only 60m, if it is so profitable, many big boy already starting buying, EPf make a cough already can buy up the whole company , sime derby ytl those cash rich company clap a hand, then this company will under them already, so.. why they no buying?
Chong, for the life of me, i cannot find either in Smartag's website and also Bursamalaysia's site the contract deal signed for 1st September for three years. Any confirmation on your part?
No, brother KC Loh , you won't find it in Smartag site, not at all, hee, hee, hee. I got it direct from the CEO's office via email more than 3 weeks ago...cheers.
probably still pending then. By right, they need to announce as they are a public listed entity. This is really my ire with ACE counters. But so far, you have proven to be an ally in terms of posting. I will try check that out from your forum.
in the meanwhile, i am comfortable with 24-25 sens entry level from my research! Thanks
Please copy this & send it to all your friends & ask them to send to their friends too....thank you all :thankyou:
Why are cars way cheaper in the US?
Aug 7, 2012
The recent car prices issue made me curious. Having been totally unaware of such huge discrepancies between Malaysian and world prices, I went on the Internet to see what real world car prices were. I was shocked.
These are US car prices with US duty and import tax paid, which are just like Malaysian car prices with duty and tax also paid, but here, you will see, they are much lower and less exorbitant than in Malaysia.
Bear in mind all cars are CBU (complete built up) Japan, CBU South Korea or CBU Germany.
The following cars we get here are CKD (complete knocked down) cars with more than 50 percent Malaysian content and "supposedly" are cheaper due to their being CKD and supporting Malaysian manufacturers.
I cannot understand, we support our own Malaysian manufacturers and beli barang buatan (buy local) Malaysia too, and yet the prices can be higher than barang buatan (made in) Japan or German, which is usually higher in quality.
And yet, to make matters worse, US people's GDP per capita is higher than Malaysia and the average American earns five times more than the average Malaysian.
Mainstream car prices
Honda Accord US$21,480 (RM64,440) RM150,000
Honda CRV US$22,495 (RM67,485) RM150,000
Honda Civic US$15,955 (RM47,865) RM115,000
Toyota Altis US$16,130 (RM48,390) RM112,000
Toyota Camry US$22,055 (RM66,165) RM180,000
Kia Sorento US$23,150 (RM69,450) RM160,000
Hyundai Tucson US$19,245 (RM57,735) RM140,000
Hyundai Sonata US$20,895 (RM62,685) RM150,000
Hyundai Elantra US$16,695 (RM50,085) RM98,000
Luxury car prices
BMW 328i US$36,500 (RM109,500) RM300,000
BMW 528i US$46,900 (RM149,000) RM400,000
BMW 535i US$52,500 (RM157,000) RM600,000
BMW X5 US$47,500 (RM142,500) RM580,000
Mercedes E350 US$51,000 (RM153,000) RM400,000 (In M'sia for only CKD E250)
Jaguar XF US$53,000 (RM159,000) RM500,000
Jaguar XJ US$73,700 (RM221,000) RM1,000,000
Porsche Cayenne US$48,850 (RM146,000) RM570,000
Please forward this to every Malaysian you know so that they may realise how we are being cheated in car prices and have been cheated for the past 30 years.
Most Malaysians pay close to 50 percent of their salary for their monthly payments for their cars.
Not only do the banks get an easy ride (cause everybody is "forced" to take loans), we have to live in debt for over seven years, depriving our family of better food and clothes.
Hi Bro Chong - on my way back soon after the Olympics - Good to see you sharing good information still. Makaysia should award you a dold medal - keep iy up my friend !!!
Cars in Uk we thought were expensive but I bought an X5 4.4 litre for less than Rm 250 k has tv , sat leather and personal number plate. If prices were lower here people would perhaps chane thme more often - so tax revenue could be the same or little higher.
Even in Hong Kong I bought a %25 Se BMW for less than Rm 250k and their tax is supposed to be high.
Cant see me spending the amount they want for a BMW here - maybe settle for Honda motorbike - ha ha.
Company Name: SMARTAG SOLUTIONS BERHAD (ACE Market) Stock Name: SMARTAG Date Announced: 08/08/2012
Announcement Detail: Admission Sponsor: Kenanga Investment Bank Bhd
Sponsor: Same as above
Type: Announcement
Subject: OTHERS
Description: Smartag Solutions Berhad ("Smartag" or the "Company")
Supplemental Agreement between Smartag Solutions Berhad and The Government of Malaysia which is represented by the Ketua Pengarah Kastam of Jabatan Kastam Diraja Malaysia ("JKDM") (collectively referred to as the "Parties") to the Agreement dated 30 April 2012 pertaining to the implementation and operation of the Container Security and Trade Facilitation System using Radio Frequency Identification ("RFID") at JKDM
Staphylococcus, that supplemental agreement is for trial run from 1st June. Not the 1st September date. One has to be correct to inform the people here. Tell me if I am wrong here.
I am sure they will sign the 1st September contract, knowing our government depts mentality. . Just that a black & white would ease all speculations.
Go in guys & gals before it's too late. Since Smartag listing, it has been losing money albeit a very small amount for the past 6 Quarters.....however please take note that losses for each quarter is less than 0.5 cents per share for each quarter.
Most of he losses are main due to the promotion of Smartag RFID among the forwarders & also due to the about 6 months trial with the Customs Department where money is need for the expenses since this trial as Government doesn't have to pay single cent. Yes, all expenses need to be meet at the more than 16 Customs checkpoints...manpower, administration, equipment, etc.
One final advice is to please keep it for at least 6 months after the commencement of the collection.
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
