KUALA LUMPUR (May 31): Sapura Energy Bhd said its external auditor has expressed its unqualified opinion with material uncertainty related to the group's ability to continue as a going concern.

Messrs Ernst & Young PLT (E&Y) expressed the opinion in the audited financial statements of the group for the financial year ended Jan 31 2022 (FY22), the group said in a bourse filing.

E&Y highlighted that the integrated upstream service provider’s reported a net loss of RM9.06 billion for FY22, and that its current liabilities exceeded its current assets by RM12.45 billion.

The auditor noted that Sapura Energy faces severe liquidity constraints, and together with its 22 units have obtained restraining orders under Section 368 of the Companies Act 2016, as well as separate contractual standstill arrangements with lenders — which will expire on June 10 and June 6 respectively.

U need to understand this mah!

If sapnrg refuse & cannot pay the whole unsecured loan which is suppose to be loan term is classified as short term mah!

Once the bank agree on the terms of restructuring....these loan will be reclassified to loan term mah!

When the bank is owed more than Rm 10b and loan is unsecured....the bank is in trouble mah!

Ambank says they have provided 85% of the potential loan losses mah!

Thus haircut between 35% to 75% from the banks are highly possible in the propose coming restructuring mah!

those who dont understan accounting/financial audit.. it is good that sapura had unqualified opinion.. it is the qualified opinion that should be avoided.. regarding material uncertainty, this is already in the know becoz some refuse to continue with assistance.. now MOF in the midst of providing in need assistance instead.. regarding 9 bil loss.. we all already know about the 8.09 loss previously.. it is just the same lost reported again

Just decided to post my 2 cents.
A lot of sore losers commenting here who likely have lost money from this counter before. And now, they lack the capital to buy as likely their other stocks are also losing money elsewhere. For some of you to comment multiple times within an hour shows me that you are a loser.
People who have actual jobs and money to invest in the stock market won’t have the time to post nonsense here.
Hey, it’s none of your business how people want to buy or sell, lose or profit as it’s not your money.
If I’m a multimillionaire, even losing RM500k is nothing, unlike some of these sore losers who feel the pinch even if lose RM50.
It’s just a matter of time before the formal announcement of the loan package by Petronas is going to be made, these are not things you can prepare with 2-3 days of work, it takes at least a week to iron out the details.
So, I’ll hold until the formal announcement, and accumulate more as per what my capital allows me to.
If you can’t wait, then don’t play the stock market, better go to the casino

Most legacy contracts without C-19 provisions will expire 2023. New bidding rounds already account for high crude price and C-19. Future looks good. They need the working capital only. MOF can help short term.
