In October 2020, the Chinese firm informed the Philippines it was no longer interested in conducting trials, saying it opted to supply doses of the vaccine to the country.

The FDA added that as of January 1, 2021, Sinopharm has not submitted any application for clinical trials nor emergency use authorization (EUA) of their vaccine in the Philippines. Only Pfizer has applied for an EUA in the Philippines.

Looks like Kanger Chairman Datuk Nur Jazlan is not happy with our Government. Will it affect business relationship?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(The Star) – The Pulai Umno division will push for a motion to call for the party to withdraw its support for the Perikatan Nasional-led government, says its chief Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed.

He said that there were cracks appearing within the Perikatan government and it would be wise for Umno to “pack its bags and leave”.

“There is no trust between Umno and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, where a small party dictates a bigger party.

“We can see that the present government has minority support in Parliament with majority of their support coming from the more than 30 Umno MPs,” he added.

He said this after launching the division’s Wanita wing meeting here on Friday (Jan 1).

Nur Jazlan, who is also Johor Umno deputy chief, added that the Umno supreme council was expected to make a decision by March if the party would continue supporting Perikatan.

He believed other Umno divisions throughout the country would also come up with similar motions.

“When the present government does any good, Umno will not gain anything – but if their actions backfire, Umno gets the brunt of it,” he said.

The former Pulai MP said if Umno withdrew its support for the Perikatan government, then a snap general election would be held and urged the division members to carry out necessary preparations.

He added that the division would not let go any of its traditional seats such as the Pulai parliamentary and Kempas state seats to Bersatu.

Sinopharm is definitely good. I am willing take this vaccine over Pfizer too.
And I think Government will procure Sinopharm as well as it is the only one approved so far. Cansino and Sinovac is still in trials.

I am just concerned with Kanger , the company only before I dive in further.

Willingness to get COVID inoculations strong

By WANG XIAOYU in Beijing and CHAI HUA in Shenzhen, Guangdong | China Daily | Updated: 2020-12-31 06:56

A resident is given a COVID-19 inoculation at a community health center on Wednesday in Shenzhen, Guangdong province. CHAI HUA/CHINA DAILY
People qualified to get an emergency inoculation against COVID-19 in China have shown a strong willingness to take the shot, as evidence of homegrown vaccines' safety and efficacy continues to build, boosting the public's confidence.

Leading vaccine developer Sinopharm said on Wednesday that an inactivated vaccine candidate created by a company unit in Beijing is 79.34 percent effective in protecting people against the virus and is generally safe, citing interim results from stage 3 clinical trials.

The newly released efficacy rate has met requirements set by the World Health Organization and the National Medical Products Administration, the company said in a statement released on its website.

The product can also induce a high level of neutralizing antibodies in 99.52 percent of recipients. This indicates that nearly all of them have generated immune responses against the virus, but not all responses are necessarily strong enough to fend it off.

With these new developments, the company said it has already submitted an application for market approval to the top drug regulator, making it the first domestic vaccine developer to announce the crucial move.

The experimental dose, developed by Sinopharm's Beijing Biological Products Institute, is one of three vaccines being rolled out for an emergency inoculation program targeting high-risk groups nationwide since July.

The high-risk population includes those traveling to medium-or high-risk areas for work or study, as well as workers in customs, healthcare, the cold-chain industry and other public service sectors, according to the National Health Commission.

Nearly 1 million people had received emergency doses as of late December, the commission said.

As evidence on domestically developed vaccines accumulates and official market approval draws closer, the emergency campaign is proceeding smoothly across the country and has been met with high acceptance from the public, officials said.

In Shenzhen, Guangdong province, five community clinics began vaccinating people against the virus this week. The two-dose vaccination is free of charge, but appointment slots are limited, according to the local government.

On Tuesday, people waiting to get the shot were lined up at one of the centers in Nanshan district while more than a dozen medical workers were busy checking their information, setting up personal health files, administering the dose and confirming the date for the second shot.

Among the recipients was Yan Weifan, a new graduate from a university in Hong Kong. He planned to travel to Hong Kong soon to get his diploma, which made him eligible for the emergency program.

Yan said he waited for about an hour at the health center to get the shot and was instructed to remain there for 30 minutes for medical observation before leaving.

"It felt like having a normal injection, with a little sore and swollen feeling," he said.

Song Shuyi, director of the health center, said about 400 people were vaccinated on Monday, most of them students who plan to study abroad.

High demand

In Jinan, Shandong province, two hospitals were designated to administer emergency doses starting over the weekend, according to the city's health commission.

Hospital workers stayed busy all day on Tuesday fielding calls about the vaccinations and booking slots, according to a medical worker at one Jinan hospital who declined to give his name.

A similar eagerness to get vaccinated was reported in Wuhan, Hubei province, which began emergency inoculations on Dec 24 at 48 health clinics across the city.

"I hope to get vaccinated as soon as possible so that I do not need to present nucleic acid test results each time I get a new job," said a 43-year-old housekeeper in Wuhan whose surname is Wang.

In response to the high demand, local governments are stocking up on emergency doses and accelerating vaccinations for high-risk groups while abiding by regulations.

Jing Jing, a senior official at Sichuan province's health commission, said during a conference on Dec 17 that the commission planned to complete administering the first doses to all key groups by Jan 15 and to finish the second injections by Feb 5.

Health authorities said during a previous conference that annual manufacturing capacity for the vaccines in China will exceed 1 billion by the end of 2021.

Liu Kun in Wuhan, Zhao Ruixue in Jinan and Zhang Zhihao in Beijing contributed to this story.

Noobie123 That is not entirely true. China's covid situation is mostly under control. Hence, they have sufficient vaccines to supply globally.

China is likely to officially launch a plan for herd immunity in the next half year after the key high risk groups take priority of inoculations first with others being vaccinated later as vaccine production gradually increases.

Beijing city said on Thursday it will inoculate all key groups with the first dose by mid-January and the second dose after two to four weeks. The first to be inoculated include those working in cold storage food facilities, port quarantine, transportation, fresh food markets, medical workers, and those who are going to study or work overseas.

Noobie123 Most countries will secure doses from multiple vaccines suppliers, not just 1. Sinopharm will just be one of the vaccines those countries will be securing. Besides, Sinopharm is targeting to produce over 1 billion doses by the end of 2021.

@Steady..before we go off road, I am never an anti Sinopharm. I will support this vaccine regardless Government procured or private supplied. Me posting articles on Sinopharm is for general knowledge.

My interest here is on Kanger performance and consequences on the share price movements. That's the main objective. Therefore the focus is on the company. Let's not get distracted.
I hope Kanger management would monitor this forum and get the message.

Western vaccines do not give us priority as what china promised us. So in urgency when we facing increasing new infections, our gov is considering mco, but we do have choice to priority procurement for vaccine, why we need to lose billions of money for mco?

Just got an info from Kanger director Mr Joseph Wu. Someone emailed him using email address from Kanger website asking about the vaccine. This is his response : "We are currently still waiting for allocation from China and hopefully we'll able to get it at soonest." READ AT YOUR OWN RISK. I got it from a trustworthy group but I'm not going to believe it 100%.

This is what I see....assuming everything is good.

Formalise distributorship agreement – January 2021
Submit for MOH approval – Febuary
Obtain approval – April
Places orders - April
Lead time – 4 months (Superfast priority)
Earliest Vaccine arrive – August
Actual impact on revenue performance – Sept / Dec 2021
QR reporting – March 2022

Now let's look back at the share value....
and do some analysis on competitors and private market share whatever there's left after Government orders.

PETALING JAYA: Pulai Umno became the first division in the country to pass a resolution asking party leaders to quit the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government immediately to force a general election.

Its head Nur Jazlan Mohamed, who confirmed this to FMT, said the delegates at the annual general meeting on Friday had unanimously decided that it would be in the best interest of Umno and its reputation to leave the ruling coalition before the party is also blamed for the failure of PN to govern properly.

In a strongly-worded resolution which was sighted by FMT, the division described the coalition’s top leaders as untrustworthy and who have no qualms about ditching their allies for power.

Guevarra said he had directed the National Bureau of Investigation to look into the use of the vaccine developed by the Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinopharm and how it was brought into the Philippines.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has said that it has not approved any candidate vaccine for COVID-19 and that the use of any unregistered vaccine is illegal.

The longer the govt drag the vaccination program, the deeper the hole they digging. More side effects from pfizer are popping out almost daily. Better hope not 1 single Singaporean reports a side effect. That will almost nail pfizer.

Now, Astral is being rushed out in US, UK and India. We got government mixing doses in desperation now. Do you think there will not be any side effects among the millions being rolled out now?

40% of our free vaccines there.

If you know what's really going on in China, despite being a safer vaccine, they are actually taking every precaution on their Vaccination program. Even someone with a headache are warned against vaccinating first.
