In a statement today, Sime Darby Property Bhd said Battersea Power, which beat off strong competition from property heavyweights — Land Securities, Grainger and Berkeley Group — was praised for getting the power station project off the ground after over 30 years.

The award was presented yesterday evening, it said.

Sime Darby Property said Apple was confirmed as a future office tenant and the first resident moving in Circus West Village’s first phase development.

Chief Executive Officer at Battersea Power Station Development Co, Rob Tincknell, said this summer, the rebuilding of Battersea’s four iconic chimneys was completed, marking first tangible signs of its regeneration in more than 30 years.

“Apple has signed as an anchor tenant, and no doubt other prestigious media and art companies will follow their lead. Besides new shops, restaurants and office space, 20,000 new homes will be built. There will also be a six-acre public park, a town square and a major extension to the tube line,” he said.

Sime Darby Property said the award also came at a pivotal time for the development as it prepared for Circus West Village’s official launch of its first phase, later this year.

“The launch would mark the opening of the first shops, restaurants and riverside bars alongside the recently opened Village Hall in South West London,” it said.

The site was bought in 2012 by a consortium of Malaysian shareholders: SP Setia, Sime Darby and Employees Provident Fund.

Restoration of the historic building and regeneration of the wider 16.8-hectare site began in 2013. Presently, over 3,000 people were working on-site, and on completion some 17,000 jobs would be created.

Work is now underway on tunnelling for the Northern Line Extension, expected to be operational in 2020, the same time as the restored power station and new riverside park to be opened. — Bernama

my investment horizon varies from one stock to the other

I harvest by batches

as I explained to probability before, once you measure portfolio return by realised gain (instead of paper gain), diversification suddenly becomes very very appealing. It has the benefit of lower risk yet does not have the problem of one stock's paper loss offsetting another stock's paper gain

this is a contrarian play (I am not doing it for the sake of doing it)

the herd believes No deal Brexit is damaging

I agree with the herd that No Deal Brexit is indeed damaging.

However, I do not believe No Deal Brexit will happen (because if it happens, it will be SO damaging until the entire financial system will collapse caused by business failures, bad debts, etc)

As a democracy, UK will have check and balance to ensure that Theresa May wouldn't pull off a No Deal Brexit

It is already happening. British parliament is already mobilising (across political parties) to ensure No Deal Brexit won't happen in March 2019

So it is a genuine contrarian move, not contrarian for the sake of contrarian

as I mentioned, " think rationally and objectively so as to exploit the nuances and subtleties",

I am just putting it into practice. Only time can tell whether I bet right or wrong.

btw, my underlying argument is that it is difficult to lose money on a 13 sen warrants expiring in 2022, when the PLC is hugely profitable, and the macro is far from hopeless

no risk no gain
